To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Mechagodzilla, a special POP UP STORE is gearing up to celebrate at Seibunkan Shoten Minowa Branch. This limited-time event will run from Saturday, December 27, 2025, to Wednesday, February 1, 2026.
Within the globally celebrated Godzilla series, Japan’s proud tokusatsu masterpiece, the mechanical kaiju Mechagodzilla reigns supreme as Godzilla’s ultimate rival. Since its explosive debut in the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, its standout design as a massive, steel-colored weapon, overwhelming firepower equipped with numerous armaments, and its persistent presence—constantly repaired and upgraded after each defeat—has made it an indispensable and perennially popular part of the Godzilla legacy.
All Mechagodzillas Assemble!
This “Great Mechagodzilla POP UP STORE in Aichi” will see a gathering of various Mechagodzilla units in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. From the original to Super Mechagodzilla and the fan-favorite Type-3 Kiryu (which can be translated as “Machine Dragon”), they’re all coming. The store will feature official goods like new apparel and miscellaneous items themed around the历代 Mechagodzilla, as well as merchandise from other kaiju in the Godzilla series.
