A Classic Meets Modern Comedy: “Kyuuetsuki Sugu Shinu 2” Teams Up with Rascal the Raccoon!
Get ready for a crossover you never saw coming! The iconic raccoon from the beloved classic Araiguma Rasukaru (also known in English as Rascal the Raccoon) is joining forces with the cast of the hilariously unhinged gag series Kyuuetsuki Sugu Shinu (which can be translated as The Vampire Dies in No Time). To celebrate this wild collaboration, the “Kyuuetsuki Sugu Shinu 2 x Rasukaru POP UP STORE” will be opening its doors in four cities across Japan, starting January 24th, 2026.

Two Beloved Worlds Collide
Araiguma Rasukaru is a timeless piece of animation history. It first aired in 1977 as the third series in the famous “Sekai Meisaku Gekijou” (World Masterpiece Theater) lineup. The story, set in Wisconsin, USA, tenderly depicts a year in the life of a young boy named Sterling and his raccoon companion, Rascal. Its legacy continues with the official spin-off anime, Araiguma Karukarudan, which began airing in April 2025 and has been charming a new generation of fans.
On the other end of the spectrum is Kyuuetsuki Sugu Shinu, a manga serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion. This series is a high-octane, absurdist gag comedy featuring the world’s weakest vampire, a perpetually unlucky vampire hunter, and the parade of idiots and weirdos that surround them. The story follows vampire hunter Ronald as he ventures into the castle of Dracul, a “Primogenitor” vampire feared as invincible. However, Dracul’s true nature is that of an overwhelmingly pathetic weakling who turns to dust with alarming frequency. Forced into an unlikely partnership, Ronald must navigate a city overrun by bizarre vampires to maintain any semblance of peace and order in Shin-Yokohama.

The “John to Rasukaru Nakayoshi Nuigurumi (Best Friends Plushie)” will be available in two types and is made-to-order. Pre-orders are scheduled to open on HMV&BOOKS online starting January 24th, 2026.

As a bonus, for every ¥3,300 (tax included) spent at the “Kyuuetsuki Sugu Shinu 2 x Rasukaru POP UP STORE,” customers will receive one random original postcard from a set of eight designs. Furthermore, visitors at the Tokyo and Hyogo locations will get an additional postcard if they pay with or present an EPOS card (even when paying with cash).
