About the Film’s Production

Bringing Nowaki Fukamidori’s novel to life is a skilled creative team. Directing the project is Fukuoka Daiki, known for his work on Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Washio Sumi no Shou. The screenplay is in the hands of Nakanishi Yasuhiro, who famously penned the clever dialogue of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen. The characters are designed by Kurosawa Keiko (Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut), with the film’s score being composed by the renowned Ooshima Michiru of Zetsuen no Tempest fame. The animation production is handled by Kagome Company.

The Source Material

The film is based on the mystery fantasy novel by Nowaki Fukamidori, which was first published by Kadokawa under their Kadokawa Bunko imprint in October 2020. The story also found success in manga form, with an adaptation illustrated by Sora Kakeru serialized in Young Ace from 2021 to 2023.

International Release

For international fans, Yen Press has licensed both the original novel and the manga adaptation for English release. The first novel volume hit shelves in February 2024, making this captivating story accessible to a wider audience.

The film Kono Hon wo Nusumu Mono wa premiered in Japanese theaters on December 26, inviting audiences to uncover its secrets.
