Big News for Saitama Fans: More One Punch Man on the Way!
The wait for the strongest hero isn’t over yet! With the airing of the 12th and final episode of One Punch Man Season 3, viewers were hit with an exciting reveal: a second cours is officially in production and is slated to hit screens in 2027.
Diving into Season 3’s Details
This latest season, which began its broadcast on October 12, is being produced by the studio J.C.Staff. For fans around the globe, the series has been available on various streaming platforms. In the United States, you can catch it on Hulu, while our neighbors in Canada have it on Disney+. Over in Europe and Southeast Asia, Crunchyroll is the place to be for all the bald-headed action.
A Quick Heroic History Lesson
This isn’t Saitama’s first rodeo, of course. The journey began back in Fall 2015 with a 12-episode first season animated by Madhouse. It quickly became a global phenomenon, streaming on platforms like Daisuki and Hulu, and later receiving an English dub on Adult Swim’s Toonami block.
The second season followed in Spring 2019, with J.C.Staff taking over the animation duties. This season continued the simulcast tradition on Crunchyroll and Hulu, with Toonami again bringing the dubbed version to audiences later that year.
The Manga Powerhouse Behind the Punch
All this epic action originates from the fantastic manga created by ONE and illustrated by Murata Yusuke. ONE first launched One Punch-Man as a webcomic in 2009, with Murata Yusuke (known for Eyeshield 21) beginning his stunning redraw on the Tonari no Young Jump website in 2012. The manga has been a colossal hit, with over 35 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation worldwide. Shueisha published the 35th volume just recently in October.
For English-reading fans, VIZ Media has been a longtime publisher, currently simulpublishing the series digitally on its Shonen Jump platform alongside the Japanese release.
