About the Beloved Pokémon Anime Series
The anime Pocket Monsters is a hugely popular series that depicts the friendships and adventures with Pocket Monsters (shortened to Pokémon), mysterious creatures full of secrets, in a world where they live. The TV anime began airing in April 1997, portraying the adventures of the boy Satoshi (aiming to become a ‘Pokémon Master’) and his partner Pikachu for about 26 years until March 2023. From April 2023, a new series has been airing featuring the girl Riko and the boy Roi as the new protagonists. The movie series also started with the 1998 release Gekijouban Pocket Monsters: Myuutsuu no Gyakushuu (also known as Pokémon: The First Movie) and has produced many films, loved by fans across generations.
