Which 2D Characters Do Fans Want to See at the Kohaku Uta Gassen? Survey Results for 2025!

The 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st, 2025.

This year, many artists familiar to anime fans will be appearing. For instance, LiSA-san from the Red Team performed the theme song “Zankoku na Yoru ni Kagayake” for Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou Akaza Saishuu, and Leon Shimbahira-san from the White Team performed the ending theme “Fun! Fun! Fun!” for Meitantei Conan.

As always, Anime! Anime! conducted its annual survey concerning “Artists We Want to See at the Kohaku Uta Gassen.”

The survey was divided into two categories: a [Real Artist Category] for real-life singers and voice actors who perform anime themes, and a [2D Content/Character Category] for characters and groups from anime and games, based on the idea of “what if characters could appear on Kohaku?”. We received responses from 152 people during the survey period from November 29th to December 5th.

The gender ratio was approximately 45% male and 55% female. The age breakdown was roughly 40% under 19, with 20s, 30s, and 40s each making up about 15%.

This article announces the results for the 2D Content/Character Category.

Other Fan Comments!

For Kessoku Band from Bocchi the Rock!: “This year, the production of Bocchi the Rock! Season 2 was announced, and Kessoku Band’s momentum seems poised to accelerate again. We can expect new songs and album developments, and there’s a big possibility they could liven up the music charts!”

For Rock Lady from Rock wa Shukujo no Tashinami de Shite (which can be translated as Rock is a Lady’s Refinement): “They’re an instrumental rock band, so I’m not sure if they fit the ‘song’ contest condition, but their intensity is just incredible.”

For Uta from One Piece Film Red: “The singing parts for the songstress Uta are handled by the singer Ado-san, who performed the theme song ‘Shinjidai’ (New Genesis) and many other tracks. It also matched well with voice actor Nazuka Kaori-san’s voice. She made her first Kohaku appearance as an anime character in 2022, but I definitely want to see her again!”

For Franchouchou from Zombie Land Saga: “They’re a zombie idol group, and I’m moved by how they keep singing even if their heads fly off during a live, brushing it off as a magic trick! Their performance in the movie was also amazing, so I’d love to see their performance live.” Votes also came in for this title, which saw the release of its first movie.

In this survey, characters who work in units showed their presence. Votes gathered for those with idol and rock elements.
