New “Sousou no Frieren” Merchandise Blends Fantasy with Art Nouveau Elegance
From the TV anime Sousou no Frieren comes the stunning “Aure Glass Series,” which portrays character illustrations with the delicate designs of Art Nouveau and the gorgeous brilliance of stained glass. It’s a fantastic way to see Frieren, Himmel, and the others in a beautiful new light.
The manga Sousou no Frieren, with original story by Yamada Kanehito and art by Abetsukasa, began its TV anime adaptation in September 2023. Set in the world “after” the Demon King was defeated by the heroes, the story follows the millennia-old elf mage Frieren. Triggered by the death of Himmel, the hero she once defeated the Demon King with, she embarks on a journey to “understand people.” The series won hearts with its perfect blend of comedic character interactions, serious magical and sword-fighting battle scenes, and its richly paced story set in a post-victory world.
The production of a second season was announced in September 2024 at the “Anime Broadcast 1st Anniversary Special Screening.” This second season is set to begin on January 16, 2026, and will adapt the story from Chapter 61 (found in Volume 7 of the comics).
