Exciting News for Samurai Troopers Fans!
From the winter anime Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers—a brand-new installment in the Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers franchise—the synopsis and a fresh batch of advance screenshots for episode 2, titled “A A Ma A,” have been released! This episode is set to premiere on January 13, 2026 (Tuesday).
About the Legendary Series
Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers is a TV anime produced by Sunrise that aired from April 1988 to March 1989. It follows the story of five boys who possess “Yoroi Gear” (armor gear) as they are brought together by fate to battle the forces of “Yōja” (demonic evils) led by the demonic emperor, Arago. The series expanded with three OVA works: Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers Gaiden (1989), Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers: Kikoutei Densetsu (1989-1990), and Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers MESSAGE (1991), along with a comic adaptation by Ryuichi Hoshino in “Comic BomBom.”
Now, its正统续编 (true sequel), Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers, kicks off a completely original story set in modern-day Shinjuku. Helmed by director Fujita Youichi of Gintama and Osomatsu-san fame, the animation is produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks’ studio, SUNRISE Studios. The new Samurai Troopers are voiced by a stellar cast of five actors who have starred in numerous hit series: Ishibashi Akira as the protagonist Gai, Enoki Junya as Uesugi Kaito, Murabe Ayumu as Houjou Musashi, Takeuchi Shunsuke as Houjou Yamato, and Kumagai Kentarou as Ishida Shion.
Episode 2 “A A Ma A” Synopsis
Here’s what goes down in the next episode:
Uesugi Kaito, while chasing the Yōja that killed his grandmother, Yoshie, manages to steal some armed gear.
Later, at the crematorium where he goes to mourn his grandmother, the lost souls of the dead transform into “Kairai” and launch an attack on Kaito.
To protect the other survivors, he tries to fight by becoming an Under Gear, but hesitates to attack the Kairai, who were once human.
Just then, Oda Ryuusei and Gai appear, and they start to fight together—but then the Ten Braves’ Nezu shows up too, and…
Things are heating up fast!
