The official website of the television anime adaptation of Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori (Red River) has revealed additional cast members, staff, and a key visual on Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 8 at 1:35 a.m. on NTV’s AnichU programming block, followed by BS-NTV.

Kousuke Kobayashi (Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria) is directing the anime at Tatsunoko Production. Yoriko Tomita (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) is handling series composition, Kenji Fujisaki (Blood Lad) is designing the characters, and Yoshihisa Hirano (Hunter x Hunter (2011)) is composing the music.
The manga by Shinohara was serialized in Sho-Comi from January 1995 to January 2002. Shogakukan published the 28th and final volume in July 2002. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2004 and published all 28 volumes from June 2004 to January 2010.
