New details have arrived for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of the manga Tsuiho sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimama na Second Life wo Oka suru. ~Ore wa Buki dake janaku, Arayuru mono ni ‘Kyoka Point’ wo Fuyo dekiru shi, Ore no Ishi de Itsudemo Koka wo Kaijo dekiru kedo, Nokotta Hitotachi Daijobu?~ — better known as “Chi-fuyo” (or “Cheat Fuyo”). The series is set to premiere on TV Tokyo in October 2026.

About “Chi-fuyo”
The original manga is written by Rokushima Asa, illustrated by Gyoumuyou Mochi, and with character drafts by kisui, serialized in Kodansha’s Tsuki Maga Kichi. Known for its addictive chaotic comedy and emotionally charged character moments, it has surpassed 1.4 million copies in cumulative circulation.
The story follows Rain, a reinforcement enchantment mage who is suddenly expelled from his guild. Far from despairing, he sees it as an opportunity, reclaims all the enhancement points he had previously granted to his guildmates’ equipment, and sets off on a new path as an adventurer. Gathering around him are individuals burdened by deep wounds: a genius adventurer who lost all her companions, a warrior who lost his family, and an assassin raised to kill. The world is a peculiar fantasy setting where Uzi submachine guns, pachinko, and even yakuza exist, yet reliance on technology diminishes magic, making life tough for adventurers. This is the story of Rain and his companions’ reckless, carefree second lives.
Teaser Visual and PV
The newly released teaser visual features Rain, Lily, and Margaret looking at something, with a dragon looming ominously in the shadows. While Lily and Margaret appear tense, Rain is inexplicably smiling — a visual that highlights the temperature gap between the characters.

The accompanying teaser PV shows Rain, unjustly expelled from the guild, meeting the S-rank adventurer Lily and stepping into the adventure he always dreamed of. It also introduces the members of the Blue Crystal Guild and other characters full of danger and madness, hinting at a story that won’t follow a straight path.

Cast and Staff Comments
Yamashita Daiki (Rain Garland)

“It was like a dream when you’re sick with a fever — chaos was there. At first I was scared and kept my distance, but before I knew it, chaos came to say hello. It was like being at home and a family member saying ‘welcome back.’ What am I saying? I don’t know either. But I think it’s what someone said: ‘Don’t think, feel.'”
Lynn (Lily Flamber)

“When I read the manga for the audition, I kept thinking ‘What’s with this relaxed art?! What’s with this protagonist?! And what’s with everyone around him?!’ but I enjoyed it. I never dreamed I’d get to play Lily. During recording, I kept asking if this was a dream and gave it my all. It’s going to be super fun, so you’ve gotta watch!”
Aoyama Yoshino (Margaret Els)

“I’m Aoyama Yoshino, playing Margaret. The deep sense of loss and regret from losing someone dear, and the strength built from that despair — I tried to express her resolve behind her carefree appearance. I believe Rain’s grand adventure will give viewers courage, smiles (and confusion). Please look forward to the broadcast. That’s what the acorn said! Right, acorn!”
Tomita Miyu (Mirabel)

“I’m Tomita Miyu playing Mirabel. When I got the audition offer, I thought ‘I’ve got an audition for a crazy work!’ They told me to go overboard to the point of getting NG, so I broke my mental limiters and went all out. The show has such momentum it might leave viewers behind, so I hope everyone holds on tight!”
Han Megumi (Elsie Zora)

“‘The expelled cheat enhancement mage enjoys his carefree second life…’ etc. Is that it? Okay everyone, follow me. In any case, something incredible is about to be born as an anime. (Dramatic sounds)”
Kohara Konomi (Nina)

“A protagonist who can magically enhance weapons and armor — you’d think a cool world awaits. But no! In this show, everyone is having fun acting seriously goofy. It was a fun set where it was hard to hold back laughter. I can’t wait to see the funny faces in the anime! Thanks!”
Okamoto Nobuhiko (Hanbun)

“I’m Okamoto Nobuhiko as Hanbun. I really liked the atmosphere of the work from the start. My voice acting matches the crazy momentum. Among that, Hanbun takes a serious approach. Please enjoy the groove of this long-titled series.”
Furukawa Makoto (Cornelius)

“I’m Furukawa Makoto voicing Cornelius on the ‘remaining people’ side. What a long title! The recording sessions I attended were packed with everyone’s dedication. I’m sure it’ll be a fun show, so I hope you’ll watch!”
Shibata Rie (Assassin’s Mother)

“When I first read the script, I had no idea what was going on. Then I read the manga, and I still didn’t get it. But despite not understanding, I found it interesting — I was absorbed. Apparently my role is a ‘toxic parent’ and this daughter is aiming for independence from her toxic mother. Still, ‘Assassin’s Mother’? But as I read on, this mother became endearing — earnest, single-minded, desperate, and cute. I came to love her. At the recording, the voice actors’ energy was incredible! The emotional expression through voice alone was amazing. I was moved throughout. I really want everyone to watch. This is sure to be a more interesting work than the manga.”
Director Honma Osamu
“I first asked Kodansha to let me make the anime in early 2023. The editor in charge brought up the idea to the anime department and got a wry smile, but the project started soon after. Despite starting that early, I’m sorry for the long wait! In the meantime, the original manga became more popular, and the pressure grew. But the staff is working hard to meet fan expectations. Please look forward to it!”
Series Composition Yoneyama Yoko
“Chi-fuyo anime — I’m still amazed every time I hear it. To make this incredibly fun original into the funniest anime, I teamed up with P.A. Works. On set, Director Honma is always saying weird things, like Rain. I consider myself a Lily and will follow the director while shouting. Rain, please give enhancement points to my PC. Also fix my frizzy hair. Also buy me some green onions since I didn’t have any. And make the world peaceful. Please look forward to it.”
Character Design/Chief Animation Director Kiyosawa Yuito
“After drawing Rain constantly, there are moments when Rain looks normal to me. I take breaks whenever that happens. Lately, my break time exceeds drawing time. But production is progressing smoothly, so please enjoy the broadcast!”
Gag/Sub-Character Design/Chief Animation Director Goda Masami
“The voice actors’ performances add to Rain’s realistic annoyance — that’s a highlight. But sometimes I worry if I’m the annoying Rain in the studio. Is it me?”
