Anime ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ series full rebroadcast aired episode 11, ‘Drum House,’ on June 14, 2026. Viewers online erupted with comments like ‘Today is the Zenitsu episode!!’ and ‘It’s the Zenitsu episode! Look!’ as they revisited the early days of the series.

Based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ follows young Kamado Tanjiro, whose family is attacked by demons and whose sister Nezuko is turned into one. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps to find a cure and battles demons with a mix of tragedy, fierce swordplay, memorable characters, and occasional comedy. The 23 volumes of the Jump Comics edition have sold over 220 million copies.
The anime, produced by ufotable, began with the TV series ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc’ in April 2019. Following the ‘Hashira Training Arc’ broadcast from May 2024, the theatrical ‘Infinity Castle Arc’ is being produced as a trilogy, with the first chapter, ‘Akaza Rebirth,’ released on July 18, 2025.

In episode 11, Tanjiro, while heading southeast on orders from his Kasugai Crow, encounters a fellow final selection survivor, Agatsuma Zenitsu, who is in the middle of proposing to a girl: ‘Please! I only have you, only you!’ Zenitsu’s sparrow, Chun-taro, chirps for help. Tanjiro, understanding the bird, stops Zenitsu.

Agatsuma Zenitsu, a Lover of Girls
Noticing Tanjiro’s uniform, Zenitsu recalls him from the final selection, but Tanjiro coldly says, ‘Someone like you doesn’t exist in my acquaintance! I don’t know you!’ prompting Zenitsu to scream, ‘Huh? We met, didn’t we! We met!’
‘Stable Zenitsu www’ ‘Zenitsu clinging to a girl crying is the worst lol’ ‘Tanjiro calling Zenitsu “you” is fresh’ ‘I totally forgot that Zenitsu made Tanjiro make such a terrible expression at the beginning (lol)’ ‘Early Zenitsu is really something… w’
Viewers who first learned the depth of the character Agatsuma Zenitsu in episode 11 now see his early scenes with fresh eyes after knowing his later journey.
After Tanjiro frees the girl, Zenitsu insists she will marry him, but she already has a fiancé and leaves with ‘Goodbye!’ Tanjiro gives him a look as if seeing a different creature. Zenitsu, who thinks himself extremely weak, cries to Tanjiro: ‘Until I can get married, you protect me!’
It is revealed that Zenitsu was once scammed by a woman into debt, and the person who bailed him out was a former Demon Slayer swordsman who forced him to train daily. Zenitsu hoped to die in the final selection but survived by luck and became a swordsman.
‘Zenitsu is amazing for making that face on Tanjiro’ ‘Surviving means he’s plenty strong, Zenitsu, though he doesn’t realize it’ ‘The gap between Infinity Castle Zenitsu and this Zenitsu w’ ‘Zenitsu is just a suspicious person and hilarious www’ ‘Death-faking Zenitsu’ Fans let loose online.
Anime-Original Half-Onigiri
Walking together, a hungry Zenitsu receives an onigiri from Tanjiro, then notices: ‘You’re not eating, Tanjiro?’ ‘No, that’s all there is.’ Hearing this, Zenitsu splits the onigiri in half and offers it to Tanjiro. The anime-original scene of them eating the onigiri side by side warmed viewers: ‘I love Zenitsu’s kindness in that moment’ ‘I really like the half-onigiri scene. Both are good kids’ ‘The anime-original half-onigiri perfectly shows Zenitsu’s kind heart’ ‘Zenitsu is too good at splitting onigiri in half’.
‘You Can Understand Bird Language?’
Tanjiro tells Zenitsu not to bother the sparrow, explaining that the bird says Zenitsu doesn’t want to work, bothers girls, and snores loudly. Zenitsu questions how Tanjiro can understand bird language, but then a Kasugai Crow speaks overhead.

‘This Is a Demon’s House’
After walking, they spot a mansion beyond a grove. Tanjiro smells blood like never before, while Zenitsu hears something odd. A frightened boy nearby says, ‘This is a demon’s house,’ and tells them his older brother was taken by the demon.

Suddenly, a drum-like sound from inside the house, and a bloody man is thrown from the second floor, dying. ‘Someone fell from the sky’ ‘Shocking for the morning’ ‘Bloody scenes in a morning anime should stop’ ‘※ It’s Sunday morning’ ‘Only Tanjiro would run to a stranger flying out of an unknown house’ Viewers were stunned by the cruelty depicted at 9:30 AM on a Sunday.

Tanjiro and an unwilling Zenitsu enter the mansion. Tanjiro reveals he has broken ribs and a leg from a previous fight; the children also enter. But rooms shift with the drum sound, separating Tanjiro and Zenitsu. Zenitsu wails, ‘I’m gonna die die die this is death! Separated from Tanjiro…’ and gets scolded by the boy. ‘The loudest one is Zenitsu ww’ ‘The noisy one is Zenitsu’ ‘Zenitsu getting scolded by a kid (lol)’ ‘Looked down upon, Zenitsu www’ ‘Sharp criticism from the kid strikes Zenitsu!’ ‘Zenitsu takes heavy damage’ — fans also give him harsh words.
Desperate to escape, Zenitsu opens door after door but finds no exit; then a monster appears? ‘Open the door, it’s Inosuke w’ ‘Inosuke’s first appearance is hilarious and I love it’ ‘Inosuke is here!!’ ‘A boar that clearly isn’t normal came www’ ‘Boar Charge!!’ The boar-masked Hashibira Inosuke bursts in, charging toward Tanjiro!
Kasugai Crow Voice Actor: Yamazaki Takumi
The official ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ account releases weekly cast comments for the rebroadcast. Starting episode 11, Yamazaki Takumi voices the Kasugai Crow. Known for roles like Toripii in the ‘Shimajiro’ series and Isamu Dyson in ‘Macross Plus,’ Yamazaki recalled that his character for the crow settled in the ‘Drum House Arc.’
Chun-taro Voice Actor: Iwami Manaka
Iwami Manaka voices the sparrow Chun-taro (a Kasugai Sparrow, not a crow). She has voiced characters like Shiina Mahiru in ‘The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten,’ Rice Shower in ‘Umamusume: Pretty Derby,’ and Kurosawa Akane in ‘[Oshi no Ko].’ She commented: ‘I remember the recording was hilarious because my partner Zenitsu kept screaming. (…) This episode has a good balance of comedic and serious scenes, and I personally really like it!’
Additionally, ufotable, the animation producer, shared the script cover from the time of recording, featuring Zenitsu’s terrified face!
That wraps up the rebroadcast of episode 11. The next episode preview’s ‘Taisho Secret Gossip’ reveals that Zenitsu gets nervous around any girl he sees.
The full series rebroadcast started on April 5, just before the seventh anniversary of the first broadcast on April 6, 2019. Episode 11 was praised for its comedic first half and tense latter scenes, with viewers saying, ‘This is the episode where Tanjiro’s facial expressions are truly interesting.’
