The browser game Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Koukyuu Ibunroku, based on the anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries), has officially launched on the G123 game platform. To celebrate, a new release PV featuring Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuuki) and Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Ootsuka) is now available.
About the Series
The original light novel series by Hyuuga Natsu, with illustrations by Shino Touko, has surpassed 45 million copies in circulation. The anime first aired its first season in October 2023, followed by a second season from January to July 2025. On October 22 of the same year, the series celebrated its second anniversary. A third season, split into two cours, is scheduled to begin in October, and a theatrical film is planned for December.
Game Overview
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Koukyuu Ibunroku marks the first online game adaptation of the franchise, a simulation game where players take on the role of Maomao as she navigates the palace and pleasure quarters, tackling various problems. Using her apothecary knowledge and prepared medicines, she aims to solve incidents and progress through stages. The game is accessible via smartphone, tablet, and PC web browsers with no app download required, allowing for easy play anytime, anywhere.
Herb Gathering and Cooperation
In the game, players can gather herbs by cooperating with familiar male characters from the anime such as Jinshi and Gaoshun. The collected herbs can be cultivated into better materials, and by collaborating with other players to concoct mixtures, various rewards can be obtained.
Medical Bureau System
An original element of this game is the “medical bureau” system. Players can use items obtained in-game to build and strengthen facilities. Female characters like Xiaolan and Suirei appear as partners who help boost the medical bureau through gift-giving and skill training. Deciding how to collect items and progress facility upgrades is a key part of the gameplay depth.
Pre-Registration Bonus and Campaigns
As a pre-registration campaign reward, players can currently obtain the ally “UR Xiaolan” along with various items to aid progress.
