The popular manga Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata is getting a TV anime adaptation. To celebrate, a newly drawn illustration and a comment from the original creator have been released.
Originally gaining attention through social media posts, the series is currently serialized on the web manga magazine comic POOL. Written by Banjou Azusa, the manga has surpassed a cumulative 600,000 copies in print and digital editions.
The story is an emotional, heart-pounding romantic comedy about a male high school student named Mido who loves cosmetics. Unable to suppress his desire to try his makeup skills on someone, he ends up applying makeup on his childhood friend, the male high school student Hiura. The series has won top awards in the “WEB Manga General Election 10th Anniversary Special Edition” and the “AnimeJapan Manga Ranking We Want to See Animated 2024.”
Along with the TV anime announcement, Banjou Azusa provided a newly drawn illustration and a comment. “Being able to have a work animated that deals with the theme I always wanted to draw—a heroine who is a ‘male daughter’ deeply in love with the protagonist—is the greatest happiness for me,” she said. She also expressed her excitement for the adaptation: “Hiura moving and speaking will surely be even cuter!!”
In addition, an official X (formerly Twitter) account has been opened for the TV anime. It will share original manga information as well as various updates leading up to the broadcast.
