The upcoming anime Cyborg 009 Nemesis, based on Shotaro Ishinomori’s classic manga, has released a full promotional video showcasing intense 9-on-9 battles between cyborg warriors. The series will begin streaming on July 19, 2026.
About the Series
Cyborg 009 follows nine zero-zero-numbered cyborgs—led by 009/Shimamura Joe—who escape from an evil organization after being forcibly turned into human weapons for war. They fight to eliminate conflict from the world. The manga first launched in Weekly Shonen King on July 19, 1964, and ran across multiple magazines for over 30 years, spawning numerous anime and film adaptations. 2024 marked the 60th anniversary of the series’ birth.
The new anime, Cyborg 009 Nemesis, was announced to coincide with that milestone. The story begins when a group of nine cyborgs called “Nemesis” appears before the veteran cyborg warriors, believing that “009 and his team cannot lead the world to peace.” Led by the gravity-manipulating cyborg Graviton, the Nemesis group pursues their own ideal of justice. The question is whether we are witnessing a generational shift. Directed by Hideki Anbo, the animation is produced by Alect.

Full PV Highlights
The newly released full PV features breathtaking battle scenes as the original 00-number cyborgs clash head-on with the Nemesis members, who possess even more powerful abilities. Particularly striking is Graviton’s overwhelming strength as he corners Joe with his gravity control. “We are a necessary evil. Sacrifice is unavoidable for justice,” Graviton declares, while Joe responds, “If you choose to kill, I will protect with all my might.”
Ending Theme by Sukima Switch
Following the opening theme “Dare ga Tame ni” by Kyoko, the ending theme has been announced as “Climaru” by Sukima Switch. The duo commented: “We are very happy to be involved with the Cyborg 009 series, which has been loved across generations! The battle scenes where each unique cyborg fights for their own ideals and justice are unmissable.”
