Anime Staff Comments
In celebration of the exhibition, comments from anime staff have been received.
Hiroki Shibata (Series Director)
“When the TV series first aired, I was groping in the dark every day trying to animate the surreal gags of this hugely popular comedy manga. At the time, I had little access to social media, so the show ended without me really knowing how viewers reacted. It may not have become a hit anime, but the staff all did their best. I consoled myself thinking that was fine… Time passed… And then! After about 20 years, I never imagined things would turn out like this! I want to tell my younger self, who was agonizing over storyboards back then: ‘The children who were viewers have grown up and still love the series, holding events and making lots of goods… We’re hajiketeiru!!'”
Atsutoshi Umezawa (Producer)
“Mekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemepumekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemerumekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekemekomemekemekemekemekemekemegikemekemeke”
Shinnosuke Tanaka (Key Visual Animator)
“Congratulations on the Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo exhibition! I’m truly grateful that after all this time, the series is still being celebrated in this way. It makes me realize how much the fans who laughed at Bobobo back then love this work. I want to tell my childhood self, who was rolling on the floor laughing at the turtle rap, ‘You’re still laughing your head off at Bobobo as an adult.'”
