Pompompurin, the beloved Sanrio character celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, is getting a fresh new look thanks to popular illustrator jun. A line of merchandise featuring original illustrations of Pompompurin and his friends “Team Purin” is now available for pre-order via Animate’s online store.
Pompompurin has been a fan favorite for decades, and recently topped the Sanrio Character Ranking in both 2025 and 2026. The character also enjoys strong popularity overseas. Illustrator jun is known for soft, gentle illustrations of animals, and has published manga and picture books as well as held pop-up events.
The collaboration lineup includes a variety of items perfect for daily use or for fans who like to display their plushies. Among the highlights are a mini towel, a can mirror, and a “bath time plush” (おふろまだぬいぐるみ) that is ideal for plushie photography and outings.
The XXL T-shirt (おっきなTシャツ) is designed for relaxation, made from soft-colored fabric and available in three designs.
The jacquard woven mini towel (ジャカード織ミニタオル) is highly practical, with a cute embroidered design on the hem that adds a playful touch.
The bath time plush features a fluffy, rounded shape and a larger size that makes it perfect for hugging. The towel and the “bath time” neck tag can be freely attached and removed.
The can mirror (缶ミラー) is covered in soft, plush-like fabric. It is compact enough to fit in one hand, making it a convenient accessory for quick checks throughout the day.
The tote bag, named “今日はもうむりしないトートバッグ” (roughly “I’m not overdoing it today tote bag”), is sized to fit A4 documents. Its key feature is the fluffy, fuzzy embroidery that feels soothing to the touch.
From November 28 (Saturday) to December 27 (Sunday), 2026, a mini fair titled “jun × Pompompurin with Team Purin” will be held at select Animate stores and on Animate’s online shop. During the event, customers who purchase 2,200 yen (tax included) or more of the collaboration merchandise will receive one random illustration card from a set of five designs.
With jun’s signature soft and relaxed style, these illustrations offer a slightly different, charming take on Pompompurin. Be sure to check out the fair starting November 28.
