Summer Time Rendering Live-Action Film Announced for 2027, Directed by Nino Ken

The hit manga and anime series Summer Time Rendering is officially getting a live-action film adaptation, set for release in 2027. The announcement was made on July 22, 2026, via the official X (formerly Twitter) account, sparking excitement among fans.

Originally created by Tanaka Yasuki, the manga was serialized in Shonen Jump+ from 2017 to 2021. The story follows protagonist Ushio Shinpei as he returns to his hometown of Hitogashima Island in Wakayama City after hearing of the death of his childhood friend Kofune Ushio, leading to a time-looping sci-fi suspense narrative. A 25-episode TV anime adaptation aired in 2022, covering the entire story.

The live-action film will be directed by Nino Ken. The official X post read: “Breaking news! Summer Time Rendering live-action film, 2027 release! Directed by Nino Ken! We will share further details on this account! We are finally able to make this announcement on July 22, the day the story begins! Please look forward to it!”
