Ghost in the Shell is a landmark cyberpunk science fiction series set in a near future where information networks and cyborg technology are highly advanced, and people are connected to cyberbrains. It follows the exploits of a special forces unit led by the full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi as they combat cybercrime. Originating from the original manga by Shirow Masamune published in 1989, the franchise has expanded into numerous media including animation, a Hollywood live-action film, and video games. Its cutting-edge and unique sci-fi settings and visual expressions have had an immeasurable impact on creators and culture worldwide.
Ghost in the Shell: The Ghost in the Shell is the latest TV series in the franchise, currently airing since July. The animation is produced by Science SARU, known for the critically acclaimed TV anime Dandadan and many other works. The series is directed by Moko-chan, making his directorial debut after serving as assistant director on Dandadan and other Science SARU productions. The cast includes Maaya Sakamoto as Motoko Kusanagi, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Aramaki, Hiroki Yasumoto as Batou, Yuichi Nakamura as Togusa, Kosuke Goto as Ishikawa, Toru Nara as Saito, Marie Oi as the operator, and Tomoko Kaneda as Fuchikoma.
The new Cospa lineup includes T-shirts and tote bags featuring Motoko and Fuchikoma designs, as well as items based on the key visual that captures the world of the series.
Additionally, the lineup includes items from Cospa’s “Tsumamare” series, featuring comical depictions of Motoko, Fuchikoma, and Batou that evoke the world of the show.
The T-shirts and tote bags featuring Motoko and Fuchikoma (two types each) will be available for early purchase at the Cospa booth at Wonder Festival 2026 [Summer] on July 26. For full details, check the official information page.
