Mach GoGoGo, Tatsunoko Pro’s First Color Anime, to Premiere on Disney Channel in August 2026

Tatsunoko Production’s classic anime Mach GoGoGo is set to make its debut on Disney Channel starting August 7, 2026. The series, known internationally as Speed Racer, was the studio’s first color anime television series and originally aired on Fuji TV from 1967 to 1968.

The story follows young Go Mifune, a boy who dreams of becoming a Grand Prix racer. He pilots the super machine “Mach 5,” a car capable of incredible feats on the racetrack. Go’s older brother Kenichi, once called a genius racer, is now missing. Inspired by his brother, Go enters various races, supported by his parents, his younger brother Kurio, the chimpanzee Sanpei, mechanic Sabu, and his girlfriend Michi Shimura. A mysterious masked racer alternately treats Go with harshness and kindness. Through numerous races and difficult incidents, Go grows as a true racer and as a person, thanks to the Mach 5 built by his father. The series combines thrilling car action with suspense, a formula that contributed to its massive popularity.

In the United States, the series aired under the title Speed Racer and continues to enjoy a strong fanbase. This will be the first time the anime appears on Disney Channel. The broadcast schedule is as follows:
