World Trigger Exhibition REBOOT Report: Black Trigger Yuma Statue and Exclusive Goods Take Center Stage

The Anime WORLD TRIGGER Exhibition “REBOOT” is now open in Tokyo to celebrate the start of the REBOOT project for the anime World Trigger. We headed to Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City to check out what fans can expect at the venue.

What is World Trigger?

Based on the SF action manga by Ashihara Daisuke, currently serialized in Jump SQ. after its run in Weekly Shonen Jump, World Trigger follows Mikumo Osamu and Kuga Yuma as they defend Mikado City from the threat of Neighbors, invaders from another dimension. The TV anime ran for three seasons between 2014 and 2022.

The REBOOT project re-animates the story from the very first chapter of the manga, covering the Border enrollment arc, the large-scale Neighbor invasion arc, and the B-rank wars arc as a completely new production. Toei Animation, which handled the second and third seasons, is again in charge, delivering a more powerful World Trigger 1st Season.

Arrival: The Excitement Starts Early

Upon entering the venue, visitors are greeted by the exhibition’s key visual, featuring 18 characters from Tamakoma Second, Arashiyama Squad, Miwa Squad, Tachikawa Squad, Kazama Squad, and Fuyushima Squad. The panel has a layered construction that gives it surprising depth—a subtle detail that feels very World Trigger.

The waiting area also features walls with memorable quotes from the characters. With 29 volumes of the manga published as of August 2026, these early key lines are sure to bring back nostalgic memories.

Zone 1: Revisiting the Beginning

The first section is a video corner where visitors can review the story’s setting—Mikado City and the Border defense organization—through footage and dioramas. Further in, you’ll find Jin already defeating a giant Trion soldier. Impressive as always!

Zone 1 also revisits the meeting of Osamu, Yuma, and Chika. The Yamamachi Station signboard, a bench, and a Replica measuring Trion levels are all on display. Who knows—maybe some visitors have high Trion levels themselves?

Right next to that is a striking statue of Black Trigger Yuma, with the mark on his back glowing as if he’s about to move. It’s a scene that brings back the tense moment of the Miwa Squad attack, but this Yuma exudes pure strength.

Zone 2: The Cozy Tamakoma Branch

After a tense atmosphere, you’re greeted with a cheerful “Newcomer?”—it’s Yotaro riding Raijinmaru. Zone 2 recreates the Tamakoma branch, where Reiji, Karasuma, Konami, and Usami are having a serious meeting. The whiteboard is neatly organized, though it includes such essential notes as “Osamu-kun glasses.”

Next to Usami, you’ll find a fluffy three-dimensional Raijinmaru. Mini characters are also scattered throughout, so take your time exploring.

Zone 3: Border Headquarters

Zone 3 takes you to Border HQ, where Chika and Izumi’s sniper practice area and Osamu’s struggle during a mock battle are recreated. The sniper triggers on display—Ibis, Egret, and Lightning—are actual props used in the stage play World Trigger the Stage, giving fans a close-up look at their intricate designs.

Zone 4 & 5: Secret REBOOT Info and Visitor Messages

In Zone 4, animation materials are on display, including special early looks at the REBOOT character settings—still highly confidential information.

Zone 5 offers a corner for visitors to leave messages on Trion-shaped sticky notes. Comments from the main cast and staff are also displayed here, so don’t miss them.

Goods: Something for Every Fan

The final goods area is packed with items. Alongside standard merchandise like acrylic stands, keychains, plushies, mugs, and T-shirts, there are some truly tempting exclusives.

One standout is the Mini Acrylic Box, featuring chibi characters displayed in boxes. The rotating display makes them even cuter, and they’re arranged by squad—you could easily lose track of time watching them.

You might find yourself asking, “They’re making Trion soldiers into goods?!”—but yes, the Trion Soldier Acrylic Magnet exists, and the marks also come as keychains. They’d definitely look cool glowing in the dark.

Practical items like the BORDER Disaster Prevention Set, a BORDER ID card-style holder, and a trigger panel set that lets you customize your own combinations are all on offer. Honestly, every single item makes you want it.

The Tokyo run continues through September 1, 2026, before moving to Osaka from November 14 to December 6. Whether you’re a longtime World Trigger fan or just discovering it, this exhibition is well worth a visit.
