The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Muchimaro’s popular manga Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru! has released its first main promotional video, featuring a generous look at the actual footage. Along with the PV, additional staff members, a full story summary, and the opening theme have been revealed. The series is set to premiere on October 3, 2026.
Story Overview
The story is set at the prestigious private Fujinari Gakuen high school. First-year student Ume Mizunoe excels in Japanese and has won multiple literary awards, but his science and math grades are so poor that they threaten his advancement. To avoid having to repeat a year, he decides to join the student council to boost his internal evaluation scores.
However, the council he enters is far from ordinary. It is filled with eccentric characters: the charismatic but secretive student council president Hisako Kotofuki, the fearsome yet kind and graceful treasurer Arisu Terui, the cheeky and adorable boy Tan Otonashi (written as 尾鳥たん), and the tiny stray-cat-like clerk Komaro Mutsu. Together, they create a chaotic and heartwarming school comedy.
Opening Theme Announcement
The opening theme will be “Kaze no Naka wa Hashiru Kkyanai!” (The Wind Is for Running!) performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia. Vocalist Mia commented on the new song: “It’s an upbeat tune full of the scent of youth that makes you want to start running.” She added that the student council members seem to carry a certain discomfort with the world, and she sings about pushing forward and running headlong despite that frustration. The composer and lyricist Noko added, “I made this song with the feeling of dashing at full speed through the slightly strange but beloved daily life. I hope you’ll listen to it on days when things aren’t going well, feeling like, ‘I just have to run!’”

The anime will begin airing on October 3, 2026, at 24:30 on TOKYO MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, and every Saturday thereafter at the same time.
