The original art exhibition for the manga Ouke no Monshou (Crest of the Royal Family) is now open at Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo, celebrating the series’ 50th anniversary. Running from August 28 to September 13, the exhibition features a total of 90 pieces, including vibrant color illustrations and manuscript pages from iconic scenes.
Ouke no Monshou is a historical romance serialized in Monthly Princess by Hosokawa Chieko and Fuumin. The story follows Carol, a modern girl who time-travels to ancient Egypt, and the young pharaoh Memphis. The series reached its 50th anniversary in 2026.
The exhibition lineup includes gorgeous color originals, manga manuscripts from key moments, a screening of the past video work Ouke no Monshou: Illustration Story Video, and displays of animation cels. Visitors can also enjoy the “Isis Egyptian Myth Fortune” which assigns a type based on Egyptian deities.
At the venue, more than 60 original merchandise items are on sale, including the “50th Anniversary Exhibition Catalog,” “A3 Charafine Graph,” and “Reproduction Manuscripts.” The highlight is the “Signed Gold Leaf Art” (two types) made with pure gold leaf, each priced at 550,000 yen (tax included).
In the event space, for every 4,000 yen (tax included) spent with an Epos Card, visitors can enter a lottery up to 10 times per transaction. Prizes include an A-prize “Signed Charafine Board,” a B-prize complete set of four “Exhibition Original Clear Cards,” and a C-prize random one of the four clear cards.
As an entry gift, each visitor will receive one randomly selected “Exhibition Original Bookmark” (four types) per admission, while supplies last.
Hosokawa Chieko and Fuumin commented: “We started Ouke no Monshou after being inspired by the beautiful view of Egypt from a plane during a world trip. We discussed ideas together, rewrote until we were satisfied, and supported each other—before we knew it, 50 years had passed. Seeing the original art we kept at home displayed so beautifully fills our hearts. We are surprised ourselves that we wrote this much. We hope many people will enjoy it.”
