Tamagotchi is celebrating its 30th anniversary this November, and a new collaboration with the popular Nugenai Cocopita brand has just launched. The special lineup includes two design series—30th Anniversary Art and 90’s Dot Art—each priced at 550 yen and available at drugstores, supermarkets, mass retailers, and online shops across Japan.

Tamagotchi first debuted on November 23, 1996, as a “portable nurturing digital pet” and quickly became a nationwide phenomenon. Since then, successive models have been released both domestically and internationally, and cumulative shipments have surpassed 100 million units worldwide (as of March 2026, Bandai). In July 2025, the latest model, “Tamagotchi Paradise,” was launched, and the series continues to be loved around the globe.
This collaboration comes from Nugenai Cocopita, which has sold over 100 million pairs cumulatively, featuring designs created for Tamagotchi’s 30th anniversary.

The two series each offer a distinct look. The “30th Anniversary Art” uses the official 30th anniversary illustration, giving a bright, colorful finish perfect for commemorating this landmark occasion. The “90’s Dot Art” series, on the other hand, recreates the beloved pixel art from the original Tamagotchi screens, with a gray base color that will stir up nostalgia for anyone who played the first-generation device.

Each item is priced at 550 yen and can be purchased at drugstores, general supermarkets, mass retail outlets, and e-commerce sites nationwide.
