On September 9, the opening anime key visual for the tactical hunting action game Attack on Titan 3 was revealed. The visual was drawn by MAPPA, the studio behind the game’s opening animation, and marks the occasion of the Attack on Titan franchise’s 17th anniversary.
Game Overview
Attack on Titan 3 is the culmination of the series, allowing players to experience the story of Attack on Titan from beginning to end. For the first time in the series, players will face off against the Nine Titans, alongside new story elements. The game also reimagines previously covered content as a fresh experience, leading up to the story’s climax. The Omni-Directional Mobility Gear action has been further refined, delivering the most exhilarating and stylish combat in the series.
Players take on the role of a soldier in the Survey Corps, reliving the journey of Attack on Titan alongside the anime’s characters. The game also includes an “Outside Survey” mode, where players can recruit Survey Corps members with various abilities and skills, form their own squad, and venture into the Titan-infested world beyond the walls.
Key Visual and Campaign
The newly released key visual, drawn by MAPPA, depicts Eren standing with his back turned, while Mikasa, Armin, and Levi face forward, ready to confront the threat. The composition perfectly suits a game that tells the entire story from start to finish. September 9 has also been officially recognized as “Attack on Titan Day,” adding to the significance of the reveal.
To celebrate the key visual’s release, an SNS campaign is currently underway. Ten winners will receive an original clear file featuring the new visual. Release Details and Pricing
Attack on Titan 3 is scheduled for release on December 10, 2026. It will be available on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions are download-only. The TREASURE BOX and SPECIAL TREASURE BOX editions are available exclusively as physical packages, with the Steam version including a CD key. The Xbox Series X|S version does not offer these physical editions. The Digital Deluxe Edition is download-only and includes a 72-hour early access bonus as a digital pre-order perk (excluding the Nintendo Switch 2 version and upgrade packs).
Early purchase bonuses include a character edit part, the “Wings of Freedom Parka,” while digital pre-order bonuses include the “Wings of Freedom Earrings.” Further product details are available on the official website.
