The final chapter of Sakurai Norio’s manga Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu went live on Akita Shoten’s web manga site Champion Cross on September 15, 2026. To commemorate the ending, a special page is now displaying celebratory illustrations from fellow authors serialized on Champion Cross, and a reader participation campaign dubbed the “#BokuYabaShukuden Recruitment Campaign” has also begun.
Known affectionately as BokuYaba, the series is a youth romantic comedy that has been running on Champion Cross since 2018. It follows Ichikawa Kyoutarou, a gloomy middle-school boy in the middle of his “chuunibyou” phase, and Yamada Anna, the school’s radiant and airheaded beauty—two people who were never meant to cross paths. Their awkward yet sweet days have captured a wide readership, with total printed copies for the first 13 volumes exceeding 7 million. The manga also earned consecutive wins in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! male category in 2020 and 2021, and took first place in the Web Manga division of the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2020. It also topped the Anime Japan 2021 “Manga You Want to See Animated” ranking and the 5th TSUTAYA Comic Award.
After roughly eight years of serialization, the story of these two characters has finally reached its conclusion. A TV anime third season is planned for 2027.

“#BokuYabaShukuden” Reader Participation Campaign
A campaign is now underway inviting readers to send their congratulatory messages to BokuYaba as “shukuden” (congratulatory telegrams). Select messages will be featured in advertisements and promotional videos produced for the release of the final 14th volume on November 6. Whether it’s a heartfelt “thank you,” a “congratulations,” or a cherished scene or character message, all are welcome.

Final Volume 14 and Beyond
The 14th and final compiled volume is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026. Reservations are currently open for both the standard edition and a special edition that includes an art book titled “Dai 12 Chugakkou Sotsugyou Album.”
