The teen fashion brand ANGEL BLUE has teamed up with Gekijouban Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten for a new collaboration merchandise lineup. The collection features newly drawn illustrations of Kaname Madoka, Akemi Homura, Tomoe Mami, Miki Sayaka, and Sakura Kyoko, alongside the brand’s original character Nakamura-kun.
About the Film
The film reunites the core staff of the original series—director Shinbo Akiyuki, screenwriter Urobuchi Gen, and character designer Aoki Ume—for a completely new animated feature that continues directly from the shocking finale of 2013’s Rebellion. Released on August 28, the story follows Homura, who became a devil out of love for Madoka, and the magical girls who step back into a newly created world.
ANGEL BLUE Collaboration
ANGEL BLUE, a teen apparel brand launched in 1989 and hugely popular from the 1990s into the early 2000s, now brings its retro aesthetic to the Madoka Magica lineup. Both full-color illustrations and chibi-style designs of Nakamura-kun and the five magical girls appear on a wide range of goods.
The first wave includes a trading acrylic card (715 yen each, 7,150 yen per box of 10) and a trading aurora can badge (605 yen each, 6,050 yen per box of 10), each with 10 different designs. Ordering one box or an equivalent quantity of singles grants a pre-order bonus: an “ANGEL BLUE Collaboration New Drawing Group 75mm Aurora Can Badge” (AMNIBUS & Animate limited).
For collectors, trading Ani-Frame (275 yen each, 4,125 yen per box) and trading bromide (275 yen each, 4,675 yen per box) mimic the look of instant camera photos.
Larger display items include multi desk mats (3,960 yen each), B2 tapestries (3,850 yen each), extra-large acrylic stands (3,300 yen each), big acrylic stands (1,980 yen each), A3 mat posters (880 yen each), and 75mm hologram can badges (770 yen each).
Chibi character goods are also on offer, including a trading chibi acrylic stand (880 yen each, 8,800 yen per box), trading chibi acrylic keyholder (715 yen each, 7,150 yen per box), trading chibi aurora can badge (605 yen each, 6,050 yen per box), and trading chibi die-cut stickers (550 yen each, 5,500 yen per box).
In the apparel department, a chibi BIG silhouette T-shirt (4,950 yen each) comes in two designs—Nakamura-kun & Madoka, and a group design—available in unisex sizes S, M, L, and XL.
