TV anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) Season 3 has revealed character posters for all 11 characters. The lineup includes familiar faces such as Maomao, Jinshi, Gaoshun, and the three princesses of Ryokuseikan, along with Chou U, Ba Sen, Ra Han, Riku Son, and Bai Niangniang, a new character introduced in Season 3.
The series, which has surpassed 57 million copies in cumulative worldwide sales, is set in the imperial court and follows a poison-tasting girl as she solves various difficult cases. Season 2 of the TV anime began airing in January 2025, consistently ranked high on multiple streaming platforms and swept various ratings, establishing itself as one of the defining anime of 2025, loved by audiences of all generations.
Character Posters Feature Season 3 Lines
Each poster includes the character visual plus a line from Season 3. As the story moves to a new setting, fans will be watching how Maomao and Jinshi’s tale unfolds.
Ahead of the broadcast, cast audio commentaries recorded as bonus content for the Season 1 and Season 2 Blu-ray releases are available for a limited time until September 27 at 23:59. Additionally, ABEMA is hosting a free binge-stream of Seasons 1 and 2.
Advance Screening and Broadcast Details
On September 27, an advance screening with stage greetings will take place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi. Yuuki Aoi (Maomao), Ootsuka Takeo (Jinshi), Tachibana Shinnosuke (Ba Sen), and Fujiwara Natsumi (Chou U) are scheduled to appear, with live viewing also held at theaters nationwide.
The series’ first theatrical film, Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hihou, is scheduled for release on December 11. TV anime Season 3 will begin airing on October 2, 2026, every Friday at 11:00 PM on Nippon TV’s 30-station network under the FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT slot, simulcast nationwide. After the broadcast, episodes will be distributed sequentially across various streaming platforms.
