Yamashita Daiki’s ‘Nikukkiing’ Real Event Report: Okamoto Nobuhiko, Aoi Shouta, and Sugita Tomokazu Celebrate with Surprise Songs

The real event “Yamashita Daiki no Tokumori Nikukkiing 2026 supported by animelo” for the regular Niconico Live program “Yamashita Daiki no Nikukkiing supported by animelo” was held on September 6, 2026 at TFT Hall 500. The event ran in two parts, a day session and a night session, with Okamoto Nobuhiko appearing in both, Aoi Shouta in the day session, and Sugita Tomokazu in the night session. Here’s a report on the festivities.

Day Session

“Yamashita Daiki no Nikukkiing supported by animelo” is a “reward cooking program” where meat-loving voice actor Yamashita Daiki invites friends who love cooking to make original meat dishes, which he then enjoys with gusto. For this second real event, the program was upgraded to “Tokumori Nikukkiing” (Extra-Large) to celebrate Yamashita’s birthday, which falls the day after the event.

Yamashita appeared with an energetic greeting: “I’m so happy you all came out in the rain! So, hello!” He was joined by guests Okamoto Nobuhiko and Aoi Shouta, who delivered warm and playful greetings: “Daeki-kun and I have laughed together while chomping on meat!” (Okamoto), and “I am Yamashita Daiki’s mother!” (Aoi), making the audience laugh.

The highlight of the event was the “live cooking” by the guests. The trio looked a mix of excitement and anxiety, but when Yamashita said, “It’s all up to you two,” Okamoto replied, “We came prepared to do just that!” and Aoi agreed, “That’s right!”

The first section was a reading drama with a story about the show’s mascot characters preparing a special cut of meat to celebrate Yamashita’s birthday. Aoi voiced the cow character Morgoust II, Yamashita the chicken Tebasuchan, and Okamoto the pig Poteton. The story included audience participation, as viewers (both live and streaming) could vote on menu choices via polls, affecting the later cooking recipes. During the drama, they also played an association game with audience clapping and an “I love you” game where the three whispered romantic lines to each other. Yamashita got flustered and the game stalled, drawing comments from viewers like “My heart’s pounding” and “That’s dangerously powerful.” The lighthearted exchange kept the venue in constant laughter.

Next came the live cooking segment. In the day session, the two guests took on the challenge of making a “Nikuniku-niku Cake” — an original dish with various meat dishes like sukiyaki and roast beef arranged like a cake. Okamoto’s bold style and Aoi’s delicate approach each shone. With Yamashita and the audience watching, they successfully finished the dish. When Yamashita took a bite, he exclaimed with wide eyes, “Delicious! It’s on a whole other level of tasty!” Okamoto and Aoi also enjoyed the meal, praising each other: “I couldn’t have done it without Shoutan” (Okamoto) and “Okamoto-san’s love is incredible, truly!” (Aoi).

The final part was another reading drama, during which a surprise happened: Aoi sang “Happy Birthday to You.” Yamashita had been given a different script than the other two, and he revealed, “I had no idea! I was wondering what they were doing! But I’m so happy.” He then received a gift of Matsusaka beef from the program staff, prompting his biggest shout of the day session: “I did it!!”

Night Session

The night session began with Yamashita’s energetic call, “Everyone, clap!” He seemed eager to get started, saying, “I was itching to come out!” The night guest Sugita Tomokazu appeared in a chef-like outfit, drawing viewer comments such as “Look at that master chef!” and “This is going to be a completely different vibe from the day show (lol).”

With the call “Let’s go Tokumori Nikukkiing!” the reading drama began. In the night session, Yamashita voiced Tebasuchan, Okamoto Poteton, and Sugita Morgoust II. Sugita’s stream of ad-libs kept the audience laughing throughout. During a “bittersweet word shiritori” segment, Sugita muttered “a letter I couldn’t deliver,” and Okamoto followed with “everyone was playing hide-and-seek but then they all disappeared,” drawing chuckles with the melancholic humor.

In the live cooking segment for the night session, the trio prepared a “Nikuniku-niku Plate” featuring yaki-shabu sandwiches, glazed apple chicken, and stick spring rolls. Sugita grilled the meat while Okamoto and Yamashita prepared bread and vegetables. They enjoyed tasting as they cooked, but Okamoto couldn’t stop snacking, prompting Sugita to tease, “Nobu, you’re out of control!” The three were having a fun, relaxed time until the “Fairy Godmother” of the kitchen, supervisor Fujioka-sensei, from the stage wings gently reminded them: “Uh, shall we get back to cooking?” The audience burst into laughter. They finished the dishes, and the fried spring rolls with a marmalade-jam sauce surprised them with a great unexpected pairing. Yamashita brightened at the “Terin-gyo Chicken,” saying, “This is so good!” and relished the meal.

In the final reading drama of the night, another surprise awaited Yamashita. Okamoto, Sugita, and the entire audience sang “Happy Birthday to You” together to celebrate his birthday. Sugita said, “I usually turn down singing, but this is a special occasion for Daikichi-kun’s birthday,” drawing an even bigger cheer. Additionally, the staff presented a massive birthday cake featuring Yamashita’s face. Viewers online also sent birthday wishes with comments like “Congratulations!” and “Eat a lot and keep growing!”

In the closing talk, the two guests shared heartfelt messages. Okamoto said, “I want to see Daiki-kun’s heroic performances in many more settings, act alongside him, celebrate with him, and perhaps share more meat.” Sugita added, “When I was a child, I didn’t have a habit of celebrating my own birthday; it wasn’t special. But since I started this job, I began to feel gratitude on the birthdays of the characters I play, and the meaning of birthdays changed for me. Thanks to Daikichi-kun, who reacts so wonderfully, the value of birthdays has become even more precious.”

Yamashita expressed gratitude to everyone involved and closed the event by saying, “Please fill your stomachs with delicious food today” and “I think I can give my 37th year my best.”
