Second Season Announced
The 12th and final episode of Neko to Ryuu aired on Saturday and brought with it a big surprise: a second season is officially in production. Director Jin-koo Oh shared an illustration to mark the occasion. The new season is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
Production and Staff
The first season of the anime, produced by OLM, adapted Amara‘s fantasy light novel series. It ran for 12 episodes from July 4, and Crunchyroll simulcast it with subtitles in multiple languages.
About the Light Novel and Manga
Amara originally began writing the story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2013. Takarajimasha later launched the light novel in April 2016, with illustrations by Okuma Mai. The tenth volume was released on August 26, and the series has surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation.
A manga adaptation by Sasaki Izumi has been serialized on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web platform since September 2017. The 13th volume went on sale on July 24.
