The TV anime adaptation of Yomi no Tsugai is getting a second season. Alongside the announcement, a new teaser video for the upcoming season has been unveiled.
Created by Arakawa Hiromu, the acclaimed manga artist behind Fullmetal Alchemist, Yomi no Tsugai is currently serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan and has surpassed 7.5 million copies in cumulative circulation. The anime is being produced under the same powerful studio lineup as the Fullmetal Alchemist anime series from 2003 to 2011, with Square Enix, Aniplex, and Bones teaming up once again.
Since the second cour began airing, the show has generated even more buzz on social media. With the story around Yuru and Asa taking major turns, viewers have been sharing comments like “I can’t stop wondering what happens next,” “It gets better with each episode in the second cour,” and “I’m really curious about what lies ahead for Yuru and Asa.”
The action sequences have also drawn attention, with fans praising the animation quality: “The battle scenes are incredible,” “The action is super cool,” and “The fights have gotten even more intense in the second cour.” As character relationships and hidden motives gradually come to light, speculation about future developments has increased.
Media coverage has praised Arakawa’s unique worldbuilding, unpredictable plot, and the drama woven by a diverse cast of characters. Now, with the announcement of a second season, expectations are even higher.
The newly released teaser features a rapid-fire montage of various characters, accompanied by Yuru’s powerful line: “Don’t believe it until you see it with your own eyes!” Alongside main characters Asa, Sayū-sama, Gabu-chan, Dera, and Hana, the video also shows Iwan, a key figure who engaged Yuru and the others in fierce battles, as well as Misasagi, the leader of the Nishinomura faction that targets Yuru and Asa. The clip hints at what’s to come in the next chapter of the story.
