Fans of the classic anime Yu Yu Hakusho will soon get a chance to see their favorite spirit detectives reimagined as beloved Japanese folk tale characters. A new pop-up shop featuring exclusive merchandise will open at eeo Store Ikebukuro Honten on October 31, 2026.
The Yu Yu Hakusho TV anime, based on Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1994, follows the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a boy who dies in an accident and is revived as a Spirit Detective. Along with his allies Kazuma Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei, Yusuke battles evil demons while growing stronger. The anime aired 112 episodes from October 1992, produced by Studio Pierrot. A live-action adaptation premiered on Netflix in December 2023.
Folk Tale-Themed Illustrations
The pop-up shop’s centerpiece is a brand-new set of illustrations based on the theme of “Japanese folk tales.” In these original artworks, Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, Youko Kurama, and Koenma are depicted as famous storybook characters such as Momotaro, Kintaro, Urashima Taro, Issun-boshi, and Hanasaka Jiisan.
Exclusive Merchandise
A wide range of limited-edition goods will be available, featuring both the new folk tale art and chibi-style character illustrations. The lineup includes BIG acrylic stands, can badges, canvas boards, blankets, acrylic block keychains, and metal card collections.

For every 2,200 yen (tax included) spent on qualifying products at the pop-up shop or at Kadostore in a single transaction, customers will receive a random illustration card. There are six designs in total.
Event Overview
The pop-up shop will run from October 31 to November 12, 2026, at eeo Store Ikebukuro Honten. A simultaneous pre-order sale will be held online during the same period, with orders accepted from October 31 at 10:00 a.m. until November 12 at 11:59 p.m. via Kadostore and eeo Store online.
