Kimetsu no Yaiba NAMJATOWN Event Report: First Oni-Focused Collaboration

At NAMJATOWN, the indoor theme park inside Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City, an anime Kimetsu no Yaiba collaboration event is running from August 21, 2026 (Fri). The NAMJATOWN collaboration has become an annual highlight as the series has grown, and this seventh installment turns the spotlight on the oni for the first time. The event is titled Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ -鬼之棲街-.

Previous editions mainly featured the Demon Slayer Corps, but this collaboration puts the oni front and center. The dark, stylish ufotable-drawn visuals are a major draw, and the NAMJATOWN-style cat-ear headbands add a memorable twist. Mini-games based on oni, serious tie-ins with permanent attractions, and inventive food all aim to satisfy the five senses.

Oni Assemble: A Special Exhibit with an Ominous Atmosphere

The special area welcomes visitors with panels of prominent oni and a mini-game.

At the center stands Kibutsuji Muzan, the absolute ruler. Around Muzan-sama are Upper Rank oni such as Kokushibou, Douma, and Akaza, along with other cruel and beautiful oni who have shaped the story. Note: the source adds that the tsuji in Kibutsuji uses the one-dot shinnyou radical.

Original Goods Featuring Newly Drawn Illustrations

Goods include acrylic stands (8 types), can badges (16 types), clear cards (16 types), candy-style keychains, and jumbo fans suited to hot weather. From September 2 (Wed), additional items such as foil-pressed acrylic stands and acrylic accessory cases appear. Venue-limited bonuses include a random cat-shaped illustration sheet (8 types) for every 3,000 yen (tax included) spent on related products, and mini-game prizes are also not to be missed.

The visuals blend coolness with the cat-ear headbands that are a NAMJATOWN hallmark. The oni retain their dark, combative appeal, while the goods and key visuals also show the collaboration’s playful cat-ear detail.

Mini-Game: Follow the Threads! Oni Omikuji

Inside the special area, a digital mini-game inspired by Lower Rank Five Rui is available. Players choose a thread that recalls a spider’s web, and the prize changes depending on which member of Rui’s family appears on screen.

Prizes include the A Prize: acrylic board; B Prize: acrylic keychain; C Prize: cat-shaped can badge; and D Prize: die-cut sticker. The designs are original and use illustrations of the collaboration’s cat-ear headbands. The thread presentation tied to Rui and his family makes the game tempting to replay.

Full Collaboration with Permanent Attractions: Astonishing Detail and Ultimate Immersion

One of the most surprising parts of this collaboration is how deeply it connects with NAMJATOWN’s permanent attractions. It goes beyond simple panels or background music changes, showing the theme park’s serious commitment.

Sentou Quiz Donbura Q x Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba: A Perfect Difficulty for Confident Fans

The first attraction experienced was NAMJATOWN’s signature quiz ride, Sentou Quiz Donbura Q. The ride’s usual appeal remains, including answering questions on a monitor and the excitement of score-multiplier chance time. However, all questions are now special Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba questions.

Quizzes are ranked beginner, intermediate, and advanced, but the volume and difficulty are far greater than expected. Even viewers who have watched the anime many times can be caught off guard. Questions cover obscure details from scenes that seem memorable but are not, along with tricky number questions, testing fans’ knowledge and memory.

During the attraction, specially recorded voices of Kamado Tanjirou and Yushirou play. Their lively, amusing exchange lifts the entire experience and creates a space fans will love.

After experiencing the attraction, visitors receive one random original illustration sheet as a bonus. The distribution lineup also changes between the first and second halves of the event period.

A Walkthrough Attraction That Lets You Revisit the Mugen Train Arc with All Five Senses

The walkthrough attraction based on the Mugen Train Arc was the most moving part of the on-site coverage. NAMJATOWN’s Showa-retro buildings and streetscapes synced perfectly with the eerie, melancholic atmosphere of the Mugen Train. The moment visitors step inside, they are wrapped in the film’s heavy worldview.

The attraction begins with the conductor punching a ticket. Inside the train car, visitors find the station bento that Rengoku Kyoujurou ate with tremendous speed while saying ‘Umai! Umai!’ The detailed props create the illusion of being a passenger traveling alongside Kamado Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and Inosuke on the Mugen Train.

Further in is a space tinged with sorrow: the happy dream world shown to Kamado Tanjirou by Enmu’s Blood Demon Art. Visitors retrace the warm, peaceful daily life with family, then witness the decision to cut the dream short. Walking through the story’s painful turn makes the emotions hit even harder.

The most overwhelming part is the space recreating the battle with Mugen Train (Enmu) after waking from the dream. The red, bumpy, swollen flesh walls fused with Enmu are reproduced, and even the bad footing of the squishy ground is built so visitors can feel it underfoot. Amid the creepy flesh walls, the fierce voices of Kamado Tanjirou and others echo from above and around, creating a realistic, goosebump-inducing experience. This is a worldview worth visiting the venue to see and feel.

Clever Naming and Excellent Taste: Collaboration Desserts and Food

Another highlight is the original collaboration desserts and food that incorporate the series and characters. Two items inspired by oni quotes and scenes were sampled.

‘If We Are Together, We Are the Strongest’ Daki & Gyuutarou Ice Parfait (※1)

This Japanese-style parfait is inspired by Daki and Gyuutarou, the siblings who showed overwhelming strength and a powerful bond in the Entertainment District Arc. Their distinctive colors, vivid green and pink, are expressed in the ice cream. A bite reveals the sweet, comforting taste of sweet potato paired with the deep, slightly bitter matcha ice cream. The balance of sweetness and bitterness is excellent, and the parfait satisfies both as a visual recreation and as a dessert.

Nakime’s ‘Bebeben’ Peperoncino (※2)

This pasta dish is inspired by Nakime, the oni who freely controls the Infinity Castle. The naming is wonderfully clever, evoking the satisfying ‘beben’ sound of her biwa. The flavor is authentic: fragrant garlic and the richness of olive oil stimulate the appetite, and the flavorful peperoncino is so good that the fork keeps moving.

For every collaboration menu item ordered, visitors receive one original illustration sheet corresponding to that menu. Five Senses Satisfied: A Must-See Event for Kimetsu Fans, with a Fukuoka Venue Too♪

The Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ -鬼之棲街- event goes beyond goods sales and exhibits, offering the feel of a complete experience-based theme park event. It combines cool yet frightening visuals with adorable cat-ear headbands, heated mini-games, immersive attractions with voice and spatial staging, and clever collaboration desserts and food. It is a packed event that lets fans enjoy the world of Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba and the appeal of the oni with all five senses. The Tokyo Ikebukuro NAMJATOWN run lasts until October 4 (Sun).

From October 30 (Fri), the event will also tour to Bandai Namco Cross Store Hakata (※) in Fukuoka. Visitors are encouraged to go and experience the oni’s intensity and the ultimate immersion firsthand. Note: the Fukuoka venue will not have collaboration attractions.
