The worlds of Monchhichi, select shop FREAK’S STORE, and Los Angeles donut favorite Randy’s Donuts are coming together for a triple collaboration. The lineup pairs an American pop-inspired collection of six items from FREAK’S STORE with a new Randy’s Donuts treat called Monchhichi Raised.
FREAK’S STORE items are scheduled to launch on October 23, while Randy’s Donuts will begin selling Monchhichi Raised on October 24, with availability rolling out from there.
A Character With a 50-Year History
Monchhichi is a character that originated as a plush toy released by Sekiguchi in 1974. It is known for its pacifier pose and freckles. Its body is plush, while its face and limbs are made of soft vinyl, a combination that was described as a completely new kind of doll at the time and helped spark an explosive boom soon after release.
Exports began the following year, helping Monchhichi become popular around the world. It has continued to be loved by many fans and marked its 50th anniversary in 2024. While changing with the times, it has sold a cumulative 100 million units in more than 30 countries from its release to the present.
FREAK’S STORE x Randy’s Donuts x Monchhichi Items
Under the triple collaboration, FREAK’S STORE is handling six items with an American pop worldview. The lineup includes a plush charm featuring a special twin-tail look from the popular big-face Monchhichi series, three donut charms inspired by Randy’s Donuts’ colorful donuts, a print long T, an eco bag charm, a key charm, and a tote bag.

Monchhichi Raised Donut
Randy’s Donuts’ new Monchhichi Raised is a yeast donut coated with white icing, topped with colorful chocolate candy and an original Monchhichi chocolate plate.
Monchhichi Raised: ¥650 (tax included)
The design shows Monchhichi peeking out from the donut hole, sticking out its tongue and winking. The playful look is meant to express the charm that has been enjoyed across generations for more than 50 years.
