So, to share that “New Year” vibe with all our diverse “Anime! Anime!” readers, our editorial team decided to dive into kakizome—the traditional Japanese calligraphy that pretty much everyone has tried at least once!
The theme? “Otaku-style ‘Goals for the Year’!” Our staff, who balance work with being hardcore fans, otaku, and diving into oshi activities, poured their hearts into brushing their 2026 aspirations onto paper with a single, determined stroke!
Hot on the heels of our summer “Book Report Project,” this is another straight-up challenge where we put brush to hanshi paper in one go!
