Manga Adaptation Already in Motion
Even before the anime airs, the story is expanding into another medium. Original creator Tsuzuki Masaki and illustrator Kawakami Shuuichi began serializing a manga adaptation in the magazine Suiyoubi no Sirius back in April 2025. Kodansha published the first volume in September 2025, with the second volume already scheduled for release on February 9, giving eager fans a way to jump into the story early.

What’s This New Story All About?
The premise sets up a world under constant threat. Thirty years ago, mysterious alien lifeforms called “Invasion Species” appeared and nearly wiped out humanity. The conflict for territory has raged ever since, with the world perpetually on the brink. To combat this, the United Nations formed EXCEEDS, an organization dedicated to fighting these threats.
Our story follows Kuze Shiina, a hunter who exterminates these invasive species on a remote island in the nation of Mizuho. All she wants is a peaceful life with her younger sister, Setsuna. However, a sudden, unexpected incident shatters their quiet routine, pulling Shiina into a conflict far greater than she ever imagined.
