Evangelion Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Special Goods at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of ‘Evangelion’, a special selection of “Eva” goods will be sold at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, held from Friday, January 9th to Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba. Fans won’t want to miss these items, which include T-shirts featuring the titles from each TV episode, an acrylic stand of Shinji & Kaworu from the new theatrical edition, and three types of character clear files.

The series refers to director Anno Hideaki‘s TV anime ‘Shinseiki Evangelion’ (which can be translated as Neon Genesis Evangelion), which began broadcasting in 1995, and its subsequent series. It’s the story of 14-year-old children who become pilots of giant humanoid weapons called “Evangelions (EVA)” to battle mysterious enemies known as “Apostles.”

This legendary franchise hits its 30th anniversary from the original TV series broadcast in 2025. As 2026 is packed with various events and projects to celebrate this memorial year, it has been decided that popular goods will also be sold at “Tokyo Auto Salon 2026.”

Memorable Merchandise Line-Up

First up for introduction is the T-shirt featuring the titles from each episode of the TV series. Priced at 1,980 yen (tax included), it comes only in the color black and in size L (one size). It’s designed for a comfortable, relaxed fit that both adults and kids can enjoy.

Next, an acrylic stand featuring Shinji & Kaworu from the new theatrical movies is making its appearance. Priced at 2,970 yen (tax included), the stand itself is 18.5cm tall and depicts the two characters wearing the plugsuits from the “Unit-13” EVA they piloted together.

Furthermore, clear files featuring Asuka, Kaworu, and Rei from the new theatrical edition will be available. Each is priced at 385 yen (tax included). These three, who are famously popular within the series, are depicted in their plugsuits, each striking a pose that seems to reflect their distinct personalities.

In the same area selling Eva goods, collaboration goods commemorating Ultraman’s 60th Anniversary are also planned for sale. The Eva goods and limited Ultraman 60th Anniversary collaboration items can be obtained at the venue of “Tokyo Auto Salon 2026,” held from January 9th (Fri) to 11th (Sun), 2026.
