A New “Armored Trooper Votoms” Figure is on the Horizon!
From the legendary series ‘Armored Trooper Votoms‘, a figure of the AT (Armored Trooper) “Scopedog” piloted by Kiriko is set for release starting February 2026.
About the “Armored Trooper Votoms” Series
The ‘Soukou Kihei Votoms‘ series (which can be translated as Armored Trooper Votoms) is a cornerstone of the real robot anime genre, directed by Ryousuke Takahashi (the “Taka” in his name uses the ladder-“taka” kanji) and produced by Sunrise. It first aired as a TV series from 1983 to 1984, sparking a massive franchise that expanded into OVAs, side stories, theatrical films, event screenings, and novels. For over 40 years, its gritty, war-torn universe and iconic mecha have captured the hearts of fans worldwide.
The excitement for the series has been recently reignited with the announcement of a brand-new entry, ‘Armored Trooper Votoms: Haiiro no Majo (The Gray Witch)‘.
Introducing the HI-METAL R Scopedog Figure
Now, getting its time to shine, the humanoid weapon (AT) “Scopedog” from Votoms is being released as the “HI-METAL R Scopedog” action figure.
This item inherits the excellent articulation and gimmicks of the HI-METAL R line while introducing a new metallic plating on the die-cast joint parts for added realism. With a wide range of motion in the upper body and superb balance, it can stably recreate dynamic combat actions, including the iconic two-handed grip of the “Heavy Machine Gun“.
It can be posed in landing stances, and the pilot figure is included for a full display. A posable “Kiriko” figure is included, embodying the HI-METAL R line’s mission to capture the “charm of life-sized weaponry” in three dimensions. You can pose it to mimic dramatic descent and landing scenes, freezing a thrilling moment of action.
Articulation and Gimmicks Galore
The figure is packed with features: extending “Arm Punch” and “Turn Pick” weapons, a rotating “Turret Lens” sensor, and an opening/closing visor. The “Heavy Machine Gun” can be converted to a short-barrel configuration by swapping parts. Kiriko comes with a right hand part for holding the “Armor Magnum“, and the figure is compatible with weaponry from separately sold existing products in the line.
