The first volume of the Ginga Tokkyuu Mirukii☆Sabuuei manga adaptation will launch across Animate stores and their online shop on January 23, 2026. What’s All the Hype About?
Ginga Tokkyuu Mirukii☆Sabuuei (often shortened to “MiruSub”) is the 12-episode short anime that became an overnight sensation when it began airing in July 2025. Directed by Kameyama Yohei, who spent nearly two years crafting it mostly solo, the series captivated audiences with its unique blend of a runaway “Milky Subway” as its setting, a sci-fi visual style that feels oddly nostalgic, uniquely natural dialogue, and incredibly satisfying sound design.
The hype didn’t stop after the final episode. The official YouTube channel has smashed an incredible 150 million total views, and everyone from SNS influencers to radio personalities has publicly declared themselves “MiruSub fans,” making it one of the defining shows of 2025. The excitement continues with the upcoming theatrical film, Ginga Tokkyuu Mirukii☆Sabuuei Kakueki Teisha Gekijou Iki, a re-edited version with new scenes, set to release on February 6, 2026.

The manga adaptation, illustrated by Kouno Don, has been serialized for free on KADOKAWA’s “Shounen Ace plus” web manga site since September 2025.
