Medalist Season 2: A Look at the Upcoming “Queen’s Jump” Episode
Get ready to hit the ice again! For the second season of the TV anime Medalista (which can be translated as Medalist), the synopsis and preview screenshots for “score16” (Season 2, Episode 3), titled “Joou no Jump” (“The Queen’s Jump”), have been released. The episode is set to air starting Saturday, February 7th, 2026.
Based on the popular figure skating manga by Tsurumaikada, serialized in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine, Medalista has made quite a splash. The original work won first place in the Comics Category of the “Next Manga Awards 2022” and the General Category of the “48th Kodansha Manga Awards,” among other accolades. Directed by Yamamoto Yasutaka with animation production by ENGI, the series features Haruse Natsumi as the voice of Yuisoku Inori and Ootsuka Takeo as Akeuraji Tsukasa. The first season aired from January to March 2025, and it’s already been decided that a franchise-first theatrical film, depicting the story after the second season, will be released in 2027.
The story follows Yuisoku Inori and Akeuraji Tsukasa, who meet as “skater and coach,” each harboring powerful dreams in figure skating. Inori, aiming to become a glorious “medalist,” has built up her achievements at the Nagominato Cup and the West Japan Elementary and Middle School Championships. After passing her badge tests, she finally earns the right to compete at the same rank as the “genius girl,” Ookasaki Hikaru. Her next target is the Chubu Block Tournament, which determines who qualifies for the All-Japan Championships. Amidst new rivals, Inori is out to prove she can shine the brightest!
