It follows the hilarious misadventures of the great thief Pan Dorobou, whose sole mission is to hunt down the most delicious bread. The series has captured hearts everywhere, with cumulative sales soaring past 5 million copies. The excitement doesn’t stop there—a TV anime adaptation is set to premiere on NHK E-tele in October 2026, so get ready to see this bread-loving bandit on screen!
What’s New at the Exhibition?
“Pan Dorobou Ten” kicked off its national tour in August 2024 at Matsuya Ginza and has been a roaring success. The upcoming Kobe venue is pulling out all the stops by adding original art from the latest volumes: the 6th book, ‘Pan Dorobou to Ringo Kamen’ (which can be translated as ‘Pan Dorobou and the Apple Mask’), and the 7th, ‘Pan Dorobou to Sweets Ouji’ (or ‘Pan Dorobou and the Sweet Prince’). This is in addition to the artwork already featured from the first five volumes: ‘Pan Dorobou’, ‘Pan Dorobou vs Nise Pan Dorobou’, ‘Pan Dorobou to Nazo no France Pan’, ‘Pan Dorobou Onigiri Bouya no Tabidachi’, and ‘Pan Dorobou to Hokkahokkaa’. With new photo spots added, it’s the perfect chance to fully immerse yourself in this deliciously fun universe.
