Shinobu Kochou’s Birthday Gift! New Theater Commemorative Board for “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Chapter – Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return” Announced

The movie ‘Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou Hen Dai Isshou: Akaza Sairai‘ (also known as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Chapter – Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return) is currently playing in theaters. It has been decided that the 16th wave of “Thank You for Visiting” audience gifts will be a “Character Design – Matsushima Akira Original Illustration Shinobu Kochou Birthday Commemorative Board“, with distribution starting Friday, February 20, 2026.

‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ (often translated as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) is an anime based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, published in Shueisha’s “Jump Comics” with all 23 volumes surpassing 220 million copies in cumulative circulation. It tells the story of Kamado Tanjirou, a boy whose family is killed by demons. To turn his demon-transformed younger sister, Kamado Nezuko, back into a human, he joins the “Demon Slayer Corps” and throws himself into battle against demons. The series’ popularity stems from the poignant tale of humans and demons, intense sword-fighting action, charming characters, and the occasional comedic scenes.

The animation production is handled by ufotable, with the series beginning with the April 2019 ‘TV Anime “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Kamado Tanjirou Risshi Hen‘ (also known as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). ‘Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou Hen‘, which is set in the demon stronghold “Infinity Castle” and depicts the final showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons, has been decided to be produced as a trilogy. “Chapter 1: Akaza Sairai” premiered on July 18, 2025. Although it unfortunately did not win, it garnered attention as the only Japanese work nominated for the “Animated Motion Picture” award at the “83rd Golden Globe Awards”, often called the precursor to the Academy Awards.

This time, as the 16th wave of “Thank You for Visiting” audience gifts for ‘Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou Hen Dai Isshou: Akaza Sairai‘, it has been decided to distribute the “Character Design – Matsushima Akira Original Illustration Shinobu Kochou Birthday Commemorative Board“. This is a special board featuring an original illustration by Matsushima Akira, who serves as character designer, to celebrate Shinobu Kochou‘s birthday on February 24th.

It is limited to a total of 300,000 people nationwide and will end as soon as supplies run out, so fans will want to head to the theater early.

Following the 15th wave gift for Tomioka Giyuu, this is a special board of Shinobu Kochou newly illustrated by Matsushima Akira.

The 16th wave “Thank You for Visiting” audience gift, the “Character Design – Matsushima Akira Original Illustration Shinobu Kochou Birthday Commemorative Board“, will start distribution on Friday, February 20, 2026. The distribution period lasts until Friday, March 6th.
