Sanrio characters have become puffy, glossy-coated soft vinyl figures that look like balloons. Each figure is approximately 50mm tall, fitting in the palm of your hand, and the lineup includes six characters: Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and more.
The popular Sanrio Character Ranking event “2026 Sanrio Character Grand Prix” is currently underway. The first preliminary report placed Cinnamoroll in first place, while Pompompurin, celebrating its 30th debut anniversary, follows in second place, marking a notable start.
Now, the “Sanrio Characters” appear as soft vinyl figures with a puffy, glossy coating reminiscent of real balloons. The sculpting recreates the edges and wrinkles of an actual balloon, bringing the Sanrio characters to life. The lineup consists of six varieties, and each figure is sold in open packaging so you can choose your favorite.

The lineup includes: Hello Kitty, a bright and gentle girl whose height is five apples and weight is three apples; My Melody, an honest and cheerful girl who cares for her little brother; Kuromi, who calls herself My Melody’s rival; Cinnamoroll, a white puppy boy born on a cloud far away in the sky; Hangyodon, a half-fish creature from China; and Pompompurin, a golden retriever boy whose trademark is his dark brown beret.
Additionally, each figure comes with one piece of soda-flavored gum.
The “Puffy Balloon Mascot Sanrio Characters” will be released in June 2026 at snack sections of mass retailers nationwide.
