Character visuals have been revealed for the theatrical anime Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night), set for release in 2026. Cast information has also been announced, with Tomatsu Haruka as Aozaki Aoko, Hanazawa Kana as Kuonji Aru, and Kobayashi Yusuke as Shizuki Soujuurou, all returning from the original game.

Mahoutsukai no Yoru is based on a PC visual novel game developed and sold by TYPE-MOON in 2012. The scenario was written by Nasu Kinoko, creator of Kara no Kyoukai and the Fate series, with graphics by Koyama Hirokazu, a longtime contributor to TYPE-MOON’s creative works. The theatrical anime is produced by ufotable, the studio known for previous TYPE-MOON adaptations such as Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel].
The newly revealed character visuals depict the main characters Aozaki Aoko, Kuonji Aru, and Shizuki Soujuurou in standing poses.

The protagonist, Aozaki Aoko, is an apprentice magician living in the modern world. Until middle school, she lived an ordinary life unrelated to the world of magecraft, but upon entering high school, she inherits her grandfather’s legacy as a magician.

Kuonji Aru is a witch living in hiding in the modern era. Due to certain circumstances, she left her native England and settled in a local Japanese city, attending the prestigious young ladies’ academy known as Rei’en Girls’ School. Shizuki Soujuurou is a boy from the countryside who transfers to the high school that Aoko and the others attend.

The cast roles are as follows: Tomatsu Haruka as Aozaki Aoko, Hanazawa Kana as Kuonji Aru, and Kobayashi Yusuke as Shizuki Soujuurou. These voice actors, who performed the full voice versions in the consumer game edition, will continue their roles.
