&TEAM Collaborates on ‘DARK MOON: The Witch of Yerasa’ with Video Content, Web Novel, and Artwork

The Witch of Yerasa, the latest installment in the DARK MOON series, is being released across transmedia. Video content will be distributed from May 18, 2026, and a web novel from May 20, 2026.

DARK MOON Series Latest: The Witch of Yerasa

HYBE original story series DARK MOON has launched its new work, Black Moon: The Witch of Yerasa, beginning May 18, 2026 (Monday) with video content, followed by a web novel, artwork, and other formats.

This work is a collaboration with global group &TEAM and is the first DARK MOON series story to feature only werewolves.

As a new approach, the story is being expanded through transmedia storytelling, utilizing a total of four formats—animated music videos already released, video content, web novel, and artwork—to broaden the world from multiple angles.

While the web novel serves as the central medium for understanding the overall story, the animated MV conveys the mythological world, and the video content and artwork focus on the growth stories of each character. This transmedia strategy, designed to allow fans to enjoy a single original story in a more three-dimensional way, is a distinctive feature of The Witch of Yerasa that sets it apart from previous installments.

The web novel, which forms the core of the story, will be released simultaneously in full on May 20, 2026 (Wednesday) at 18:00 on South Korea’s NAVER SERIES and Japanese e-book platforms Comic Cmoa, ebookjapan, Mecha Comic, LINE Manga, and others.

Ahead of the web novel release, the first video content will premiere on the DARK MOON official YouTube channel on May 18, 2026 (Monday) at 20:00.

The video content consists of seven episodes. The first episode features the werewolf boys meeting the heroine Enide for the first time. Starting with this initial release, one episode will be uploaded every Monday, showing the boys overcoming their past and growing, accompanied by &TEAM’s music.

Additionally, starting from May 22, 2026 (Friday), visual artwork pieces titled “Blood Print” tied to the video content will be released every Friday on the official X (formerly Twitter) account.

This work is a prequel to the series’ central installment Black Moon: The Moon Altar and also a sequel to Black Moon: The Gray City, set in the 2010s in the small town of Yerasa on the outskirts of the fictional Aman Kingdom.

It is a romantic fantasy depicting the fateful love and growth of werewolves who transcend the destinies inherited from past lives and walk a path of their own choosing. While previous DARK MOON series works Black Moon: The Moon Altar and Black Moon: The Gray City portrayed werewolf stories in relation to vampires, this installment focuses solely on the werewolves’ narrative.

The story elements of The Witch of Yerasa were incorporated into the MV for &TEAM’s 3rd EP We on Fire’s title track “We on Fire” and concept photos released before the album’s launch, building fans’ anticipation for the work. Additionally, the animated MV for the 3rd EP We on Fire’s included song “Bewitched” was released on Monday, May 11, vividly expressing the mythological world of the work.

Regarding the production process for this video content, AI technology was utilized in part of the visualization. All core elements of the work—story, content planning, direction, and illustration—were handled by humans, with AI introduced only in certain stages of implementing motion, ensuring stability and flexible production.

HYBE Next Entertainment Business Headquarters commented, “As a new DARK MOON work that has been released in various formats, with The Witch of Yerasa we wanted to convey the power of story by linking the web novel, music, video, and artwork. Since it is the first series installment to independently depict the growth of the werewolf brothers, we believe it will be enjoyable both for longtime DARK MOON fans and those encountering the series for the first time.”
