In celebration of Tsuda Kenjirou-san’s birthday, Anime! Anime! once again conducted a reader poll titled “Which is Your Favorite Character Voiced by Him?”. We received 407 responses during the poll period from May 31st to June 5th.

June 11th is Tsuda Kenjirou-san’s birthday.

Tsuda Kenjirou-san debuted in the 1990s and received the Leading Actor Award at the 15th Seiyuu Awards.

From 2024 to 2025, he has taken on main roles in a variety of titles, including dubbing work, such as 『NINJA KAMUI』, 『Raamen Akaneko』, 『Arai-guma Karukarudan』, 『Roodo Obu za Ringu / Roohoku no Tatakai』, and 『Misshon: Impossiburu / Fainaru Rekoningu』.

He is also active as an actor. He starred in the drama 『1995 ~Chikatetsu Sarin Jiken 30nen Kyuumei Genba no Koe~』 and is currently appearing in the NHK serial TV novel 『Anpan』. On June 7th, a “Tsuda Kenjirou -30th Anniversary- Dinner Show” was held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his voice acting debut.

In celebration of Tsuda Kenjirou-san’s birthday, Anime! Anime! once again conducted a reader poll titled “Which is Your Favorite Character Voiced by Him?”. We received 407 responses during the poll period from May 31st to June 5th.
The gender ratio was approximately 25 percent male and 75 percent female, with more female respondents. The age demographic was roughly 30 percent under 19, 15 percent in their 20s, and 25 percent in their 30s.

■A Summary Movie is Currently Showing! 『Jujutsu Kaisen』’s Nanami Takes a Big Lead for Top Spot!

1st Place

Taking first place is Nanami Kento from 『Jujutsu Kaisen』. With a support rate of about 36 percent, he secured the top spot for the second year in a row.

“I think this character makes the most of Tsuda-san’s deep voice. His performance, which shows passion deep within his calm, subdued tone, is breathtaking!” and “He’s a rare sensible person among the eccentric jujutsu sorcerers. Words like ‘Labor is garbage’ and ‘It’s the accumulation of such small despair that makes a person an adult’ carry weight precisely because Nanami-san has work experience. While there may be sorcerers stronger than him, there’s no one I respect more.” His appeal as a responsible adult was highly praised.
“The documentary showing the recording session for the line ‘The rest is up to you’ was unforgettable; he performed it with an expression that mingled sternness, kindness, and sadness,” noted one fan, highlighting that the character has many memorable lines. This popular character, who appears in his younger form in the currently screening theatrical compilation 『Jujutsu Kaisen Kaigyoku/Gyoukusetsu』, took the top spot again this year.

2nd Place

In second place is Kaiba Seto from 『Yuu☆Gi☆Ou Dyueru Monsutaazu』. With a support rate of about 10 percent, he maintains his second-place position for the second consecutive year.

“This was the character through whom I, now in my 30s, first knew Tsuda-san. His shout when summoning Blue-Eyes White Dragon was incredibly powerful,” and “Kaiba-shachou’s signature lines like ‘Ore no Turn! Draw!!’ and ‘Metsobi no Bakuretsu Shippuudan (Burst Stream)’ made the thrilling duels even more exciting,” commented many passionate supporters, especially from the generation who played the 『Yuu☆Gi☆Ou』 card game. The protagonist’s rival character ranked high.

3rd Place

Third place goes to Ogata Hyakunosuke from 『Gooruden Kamui』. With a support rate of approximately 9 percent, the top three characters remain the same as last year.

“He’s a cool, elusive, and mysterious character with a hint of sexiness, and Tsuda-san portrayed him with unparalleled expressiveness,” and “He’s a complex character who harbors darkness but also shows a playful side. Tsuda-san’s low voice, which resonates deep in your ears, is comforting, and it drew me in even though I wasn’t very familiar with voice actors,” were some of the comments for the character who has walked through a brutal past.
“His monologue in episode 19, reminiscing about his mother, was terrifyingly well-acted,” and “Subtle performances, like his unique laugh, ‘Hahaa~’, really hit home. I felt that the persuasiveness in the details comes from his deep understanding of Ogata as a person,” noted readers who focused on specific lines or nuanced delivery.

■Introducing Other Comments!

For Bunzou from 『Raamen Akaneko』: “He’s a stubborn craftsman but definitely skilled at his work. He handles troublesome customers firmly but is weak against thunder, which is a lovely gap moe! His bond with the previous owner also resonated deeply.”

For Novekku from 『Chi. -Chikyuu no Undo ni Tsuite-』: “Though he stands against the protagonist, he fully portrayed the human side of someone torn between conviction and reality. I can’t forget the intensity in his voice, which was languid yet subtly powerful.”

For Narumi Sokichi from 『Fuuto Tantei Kamen Raidaa Sukaru no Shoozou』: “He played the mentor character, portrayed by Kikkawa Kouji-san in the live-action version. His voice, full of sensual hard-boiled charm, would make anyone, not just Syooutarou, feel a thrill.”

For Kuroda Tarou from 『AD-LIVE』: “Tarou-kun, the energetic and positive eternal high schooler, is simply adorable when he gets completely carried away! The other characters and story are also wonderful, so if you haven’t watched 『AD-LIVE』, you definitely should!” A character played in a stage play also received votes.

In the 2025 edition, while popular characters showed their strength, characters from his latest works from 2024 to 2025 also ranked in. The results for the poll in the coming years are also something to look forward to.
