World is Dancing Anime Main PV Unveils New Cast, Insert Song Clip

TV anime “World is Dancing” has released its main PV titled “Utai” (Song) and unveiled new character visuals, along with additional cast announcements. Matsuda Yoji joins as Inuou, and Sawashiro Miyuki as Shirabyoushi.

Set in an era of constant conflict, the story follows Kiyasha (voiced by Hanamori Yumiri), a curious and beautiful boy who meets people, laughs, cries, and confronts his own inadequacies while shaping a new dance in a fleeting world. It imagines a time before Zeami—who later created Noh—was called Kiyasha, a dancing story that continues across 600 years.

The anime is produced by CygamesPictures, known for “Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray” and “Hikari ga Shinda Natsu,” with direction by Kuroyanagi Toshimasa, who previously helmed “Fune o Amu,” “Bakuten!!” and “Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare.” The short film festival Special Award winner is already generating buzz for its high quality.

Within the newly released PV, a portion of the insert song sung by Kiyasha (Hanamori Yumiri) and Masujiro (Park Romi) is previewed, confirming that cast vocal performances will be featured in the main episodes. The PV begins with Inuou’s line “I heard the words of flowers,” opening with a quiet sarugaku scene. Alongside the beautiful insert song, the PV introduces Matsuda Yoji as Inuou and Sawashiro Miyuki as Shirabyoushi, painting the exquisite world of “World is Dancing.”

Inuou is a mysterious man who appears suddenly and vanishes without warning, leaving words that always influence Kiyasha. Matsuda Yoji, known for voicing Ashitaka in “Princess Mononoke” and Asbel in “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” commented: “Actually, this is my first regular role in a series animation production. I am honored to take on a wonderful role in a new experience.”

Shirabyoushi is a frail woman living in a dilapidated shed, surviving by selling her body for food. Voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki, who has played a wide range of roles from Takase Makio in “Different Country Diary” to Fujiko Mine (third generation) in “Lupin III.” Sawashiro shared her thoughts: “I felt daunted as to how far I, who have never known hardship in food or shelter, could approach her… but I was captivated by the way her soul thirsts, and I found myself drawn to her.”

Additionally, a group character visual has been released, featuring the characters against a mirror-board style background, giving a clear sense of each personality. Individual character visuals will be introduced on the official X account in the future.

TV anime “World is Dancing” will begin airing on July 2 (Thursday) at 22:00 on TOKYO MX, BS Asahi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and other stations, with streaming on various platforms.

Cast Comments

Matsuda Yoji

“The title is ‘World is Dancing’ and the protagonist is Zeami (Kiyasha). Just hearing that got me excited without stopping, and on top of that, my role is Inuou (Doami). He is a great figure who colored the era along with Kanami and Zeami. But in this work, Inuou is elusive and mysterious. I looked forward to the script to see how his relationship with Kiyasha would be depicted. Actually, this is my first regular role in a series animation production. I am honored to take on a wonderful role in a new experience.”

Sawashiro Miyuki

“I am Sawashiro Miyuki, voicing Shirabyoushi. I felt daunted as to how far I, who have never known hardship in food or shelter, could approach her… but I was captivated by the way her soul thirsts, and I found myself drawn to her. I was genuinely looking forward to seeing how her dance would be expressed in animation… Please look forward to it. The elite team she has summoned with her obsession are animating it with obsession.”
