Illustrator neco’s original content Heavy Armored Type High School Girl (重兵装型女子高生), a series centered on the theme of weapons and high school girls, has been announced for a TV anime adaptation.

About the Series
The series, which originated from neco’s illustrations, has seen multiple figure releases and continues to captivate fans both in Japan and overseas. The combination of fragile-looking characters and sharp weapons creates a refined world that will be brought to life by a team of talented creators.

Staff and Production
Directing the anime is Tachibana Masaki, known for his work on Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 and Princess Principal. Series composition is handled by Takahashi Natsuko, who has worked on a wide range of titles such as Yuyushiki and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. The project is a joint production between Good Smile Film and Good Smile Company.
Along with the adaptation announcement, a newly drawn visual by neco and a world-first PV have been released. The visual depicts the high school girl “Ichi” (壱) armed with multiple symbolic swords, building anticipation for her role in the anime.

Comments from the Creators
Original Creator neco
“Having my own work turned into an anime is the greatest joy for an illustrator like myself, so I have given my all to this project. I may have caused trouble for the production team at times, but thanks to the support of many people, I am truly happy to be able to announce this work to everyone. ‘Heavy Armored Type High School Girl’ was born from a single illustration and grew into figures and now an anime. I hope you look forward to the broadcast.”
Director Tachibana Masaki
“For the anime adaptation, I consulted with neco-san, who offered opinions on the characters’ personalities. When the voice recording breathed life into them, we discovered new facets together. Please look forward to the exploits of Ichi and the others.”
Series Composer Takahashi Natsuko
“I was immediately captivated by neco-san’s Heavy Armored High School Girls. The idea of girls who carry heavy armaments—not just physically heavy but with significant weight—while still being high school students on the inside deeply appealed to me. The close discussions with director Tachibana, neco-san, and the staff have, I think, enriched the series. I hope viewers will enjoy seeing these girls with heavy equipment but lighthearted high school smiles.”
