New hair accessories inspired by the TV anime Hoozuki no Reitetsu have arrived from the fashion brand MAYLA, known for its catchphrase “raising body temperature by 2°C.” The lineup features designs based on Hoozuki, Zashiki-warashi, and Hakutaku, and can be worn in three different ways. They are now available for pre-order on the official MAYLA online store.
About Hoozuki no Reitetsu
Created by Eguchi Natsumi, the original manga ran in Kodansha’s Morning magazine from 2011 to 2020. The dark comedy series is set in a chaotic, understaffed underworld where Hoozuki (voiced by Yasumoto Hiroki), the first assistant to King Enma, ruthlessly punishes everyone from lazy dead souls to the king himself. The first TV anime season, produced by WIT STUDIO, aired from January to April 2014. A second season from Studio DEEN ran October–December 2017 and April–July 2018, along with several OADs.
The new product is called the “Hoozuki no Reitetsu Iconic Hair Objet Majeste Kanzashi + Multi Charm.”
The accessory can be used as a multi-charm, a majeste-style ornament, or a kanzashi (traditional hairpin), letting fans switch styles to match their mood or occasion.
Character-Inspired Designs
Hoozuki Model
The Hoozuki model features a horn-like motif at the top reminiscent of an oni’s horns. A central pattern evokes the world of Hell, while an obidome (obi clasp) element brings out Hoozuki’s neat, glossy appearance. The design carries a cool, eerie atmosphere while still feeling distinctly oni-like.
Zashiki-warashi Model
The Zashiki-warashi model is shaped to suggest the character’s distinctive hairstyle. Flower and leaf motifs based on the twin zashiki-warashi’s kimono patterns are incorporated, so the set clearly represents the pair.
Hakutaku Model
The Hakutaku model includes design elements such as the character’s striking eyes, red curve on the forehead, and arabesque patterns from his clothing. The piece captures the relaxed yet dignified air of the divine beast, exuding an otherworldly presence.
As a special touch, each model features a character motif engraved on the back: Hoozuki’s mark for the Hoozuki version, an obi ribbon for Zashiki-warashi, and Neko Neko for Hakutaku. Beyond use as a hair accessory, the ornament can also be attached to a favorite bag as a coordinating accent. All items come in a limited-edition box inspired by the world of the anime, perfect for display at home.
