ABEMA has announced that the highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of Carlo Zen’s light novel series Youjo Senki (Saga of Tanya the Evil) will stream on the platform with terrestrial advance and web fastest distribution. Titled Youjo Senki II, the new season will begin airing on July 8, 2026, every Wednesday at 23:00 JST on the ABEMA Anime Channel. The first episode will be available for free for one week after broadcast.
Season 1 Free Marathon
To celebrate the start of the second season, ABEMA will also host a free marathon of all episodes from the first season on the same day, July 8, starting at 15:00 JST. The entire first season will be available for free for two weeks after the marathon.
Youjo Senki is based on the light novel series by Carlo Zen, which has sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The story follows Tanya Degurechaff, a ruthless salaryman reincarnated as a young girl in a war-torn fantasy world where magic technology is advanced. Forced to serve as a soldier, Tanya uses her rationalist mindset and combat prowess to survive the brutal battlefield.
The first TV anime season aired in 2017, earning acclaim for its detailed world-building, intense battle sequences, and Tanya’s overpowering presence. A theatrical film followed in 2019. Now, the long-awaited second season is set to premiere in July 2026, drawing massive attention from fans.
