SAKAMOTO DAYS Second Cour Premieres in July! New PV, ED Theme, and Additional Cast Unveiled!

The second cour of the TV anime SAKAMOTO DAYS is set to begin airing and streaming simultaneously worldwide from July 14, 2025, at 24:00 JST. The second main promotional video has now been released, and it was also announced that the ending theme will be “Dandelion” by go!go!vanillas. Furthermore, additional cast members Yamashita Daiki, M・A・O, Hino Satoshi, and Noto Mamiko have been revealed.

Based on the manga by Suzuki Yuuto, serialized in “Shuukan Shounen Jump” since 2020 with over 12 million copies in circulation worldwide, SAKAMOTO DAYS is a solid action story about a legendary former hitman, Sakamoto Tarou, who fights alongside his companions to protect his cherished family life from incoming assassins. The first cour, which aired from January to March 2025, concluded with Sakamoto and his allies using their overwhelming combat power and unity to successively defeat the formidable assassins sent by the mysterious figure known as “× (Suraa)”.

The second main promotional video kicks off with a tense scene where × (Suraa) addresses Sakamoto, saying, “It’s been a while, Sakamoto-kun.” The PV then introduces characters crucial to the story’s acceleration in the second cour, including Gaku, Seba Mafuyu, Aka’o Akira, Kyou, and Sakamoto’s contemporary, Aka’o Rion. Feeling the imminent danger Sakamoto faces, Shin resolves, “I won’t run away with the word ‘longing’ anymore.” The everyday-meets-extraordinary chaos where Sakamoto and his allies wreak havoc is entering a new phase.

Adding to the excitement, the ending theme for the second cour is “Dandelion,” a track created by go!go!vanillas, a four-piece rock and roll band continuously pushing the boundaries of their genre. The song is a warm, melodic, and nostalgic piece that captures Sakamoto’s feelings as he heads home after a battle, focusing on the quiet peace and the price paid rather than the dynamic action of being a hitman. go!go!vanillas also shared a comment about their song.

Furthermore, the additional cast members who will voice characters appearing in the second cour have been revealed. Yamashita Daiki will play Seba Mafuyu, an extremely germaphobic character who always wears a mask. M・A・O will voice Aka’o Akira, a timid character who is unfamiliar with weapons but possesses high potential. Hino Satoshi is cast as Kyou, a world-renowned film director and a member of ORDER. Noto Mamiko will play Aka’o Rion, Sakamoto and Nagumo’s cheerful and outgoing contemporary from JCC. Comments from each cast member have also arrived.

Seba Mafuyu (voiced by Yamashita Daiki)

Because he’s so laid-back, there was a significant difference in atmosphere compared to other characters, so I made sure to stick to his own pace when speaking, to the point where you might wonder if we’re in the same world. I think that’s one of his charms, so I’m looking forward to his turn to appear! Even though he’s 14, he’s quite capable, so please feel the gap between his easygoing pace and his abilities!

Aka’o Akira (voiced by M・A・O)

I’m M・A・O, and I’ll be appearing as Aka’o Akira. Akira-chan, who is usually timid and reserved, shows a bold and cool expression when she transforms, which was very striking and cool. Her efforts to figure out what she can do for her companions, and her unexpectedly laid-back and playful side revealed through her monologues, make her a character full of charm, so I hope you’ll pay attention to her. Thank you!

Kyou (voiced by Hino Satoshi)

I will be playing the role of Kyou, who appears from the second cour of the TV anime SAKAMOTO DAYS. Kyou is a very mysterious, intense, and interestingly unique character, so I poured my heart and soul into enjoying his character during the recording sessions! Aka’o Rion (voiced by Noto Mamiko)

She’s a type of character I don’t often get to play, so I tried various approaches during recording. It felt like I was approaching Rion through trial and error… I want to take the time to really internalize Rion from now on. Please enjoy watching the second cour! Thank you!

Shounen Jump, which has been the bible that taught me how to live my life from my childhood until today. Within Jump, there are heartwarming battle scenes and impressive, unique characters and words that make my heart pound. I am nothing but grateful to Suzuki Yuuto-sensei, who hits us with innovation while preserving the greatness of the old school. Amidst all this, I was truly happy to be given this opportunity as a fan of this work. The ending theme “Dandelion” was created focusing not on the dynamic aspect of Sakamoto as a hitman, but on the quiet peace and the price paid as he heads home after the fight. I’m also excited because the ORDER, which I like, will be intense in the second cour. Please listen to it a lot.
